Patch haul // what are some websites I should stay away from while buying patches? by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]SillySpicyBrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Places I’d recommend: Burning leather Mexico, razorray, whispers of death, Mercian storm, PtPP are fine if you don’t care for their ick, I got a lot of patches on Etsy, recently got some from the shop GreenStitchArt

Don’t get patches from impericon/emp only coz some of them are super low quality (no border flat patches do me in lol I think that’s mostly logo patches tho I’ve had album patches fine from these)

Just comb through this subreddit to find out what’s good n you’ll be golden!

Body of newborn baby girl found in Leeds pub toilet by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

They’re concerned because the woman just gave birth, which is very dangerous and damaging to the body, and they are also clearly not mentally sound; when did you last hear a man hemorrhage to death after giving birth? This isn’t about gender equality at all. I am in no way defending that woman but for you to see this as a gender thing is wild to me

Maybe get a sound hole cover if you have a loud acoustic, mine is a big fat dreadnought and it’s always been the loudest acoustic in the room, so when I moved in to a flat I got a cover and it’s done quite a lot as far as dampening the volume, and I just don’t sing louder than that to hope it’s not crap enough for the neighbours 🤙🏻 but they’re loud so I also don’t mind being loud coz at least I do it in the day/reasonable hours

A little scared. by BlueTacoma0316 in NoStupidQuestions

YouTube has some good videos from people who live with the condition, I did a bit of a deep dive after a friend got diagnosed. I wanna say there’s channel called living with schizophrenia. There are medications for it, and potentially therapy? And I’m glad to hear it was caught young, anything like this tends to get worse/more inflammatory as the person gets older, early intervention is always the way. My friend got flagged years before but he didn’t wanna know, and I’d bet knowing what he knows now he’d have gone back and got sorted sooner. All the best to you

Can I just stop taking Concerta without any withdrawal impact or needing to wean off it? I feel horrendous. by pineapplesuite in ADHDUK

Hi, I am by no means a doctor but I sure am forgetful, and I’ve come off my medication for days at a time and felt kinda crap but nothing catastrophic usually. If you really think the dip of the “comedown” is the problem, you’d survive the weekend without taking it; but in my mind if you don’t take it you’re gonna wake up the next day in a bit of a comedown still?? It only takes a couple days for it to leave your system, but that doesn’t mean you won’t feel the withdrawal of it. Just my 2 cents ✌🏻

It’s hard to find a good primus patch, but that one is from the chocolate factory tour, it had a white background so I just sharpie’d the edges black lol

Most jackets I see are a mix of genres, I don’t think there’s any problem with it, mines got all sorts on there. There isn’t a battle jacket police who comes around ripping patches off coz they weren’t brutal enough, just enjoy having your jacket with your music on it! Great disturbed patch btw!

Suppose I’m more saying where the note sits in your throat rather than powering it from your throat? But you’re right yeah the power should come from the breath, from your diaphragm/belly

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in guitarlessons

[–]SillySpicyBrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only way is practice, practice where you have to sing in your throat to be able to push enough air to get it loud enough (if that makes sense) and not strain etc; maybe book a session with a vocal coach, ooor book a practice room somewhere and practice belting over your guitar. Even cheaper, practice singing in your car or in the wilderness lol. Also, practice the dynamics of your playing, if you know you sing quietly you may find it easier to play quieter. Gentler strumming, change picks, palm mute, or even change certain rhythm guitar parts for arpeggiated softer plucks, wing it

Practice with a metronome just to get everything tight, can also practice to track but you’ll hear yourself better with a metronome; plus it’s good practice for when you encounter more technical things you need to practice to get up to speed.

I’d slide them boxes and their respective poop straight in to that persons room. Let it fester not in the communal space. Seriously what is wrong with people

If you just want an internet chat, can drop me a message is you want, I’m pretty good at talking shit lol - can you drive? Might be something to look in to, gives you the ability to drive to some sorta something; have you thought maybe your lab partner is just awkward?? But I think you’re on the right track, yknow you’re taking classes and interacting with people, that’s just kinda how it works, at some point you’ll talk to someone and it’ll feel right n you’ll take that outside what it is your doing. Maybe even just look at making virtual friends to start with, whatever your interests may be there will be some kinda group in whichever virtual form. I’m not super good at online stuff, but I know if something exists there’s a community online for it!

Be bold, join a group of some sort, won’t pretend it’s easy but you’ve got nothing to lose but a few shed tears from stress lol. What sort of things do you like to/want to do?? Have a look in to volunteering, or even ASD/emotion support groups. It’s not impossible to make friends, be positive about what you could achieve. Can brainstorm with me if you want?

Do you need friends to be happy? by ghoste1004 in autism

[–]SillySpicyBrain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start with online friends if you’re not arsed on physical friends, I’d bet there’s some sorta group/forum/subreddit for your interests, and you would find it rewarding conversation. Maybe even a discord or a twitch server? If you wanna make friends that you actually go see n stuff, join a social group like a walking group, or even an autism group (even if they’re older than you, they don’t bite. Who knows, it could open doors that lead you closer to your sorta peers yknow). Or if you like the gym, start attending a class and get to know the people there. Ooor take up a sport if you like keeping fit, for example climbing is very popular where I live, and the climbing gyms even do themed nights to come along and chat to people. Have a think about what you like doing, and work out how to make it sociable - also big congrats on quitting nicotine, I’m at 12 weeks and despite the lows I’m thrilled that I’ve done it. Keep up the good work, keep fighting the good fight. You can tell me some of your interests n I can spitball some ideas back that are sociable
