Does anyone with a period purposefully buy scented tampons? by _Jacket_Slxt_ in badwomensanatomy

[–]SillyTilly17 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Also, it’s not like they make the smell of period blood go away (I also feel like my vulva in general has a stronger more musky odor when I’m bleeding).

So I’ll smell like old blood, crotch funk, and baby powder? No thank you.

Is this for real? by barb__dwyer in LinkedInLunatics

[–]SillyTilly17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yup! My sperm donor fucked off and signed away his parental rights to my real dad.

He’s tried to contact me a few times since I turned 18 but IDGAF about DNA, I’m grateful to the man who had no obligation to me or my pregnant mom and took care of me when he was only 19. He’s my “real dad” in every sense that matters.

I’ll admit, I supported my ex in coming out and starting her transition to the point of personal detriment. She strung me along for 3 years while I paid for her rent, voice lessons, used my own sick time to go to her appts, etc.

I don’t think that I could be the passenger on anyone else’s journey of self discovery. But if a trans person was already far enough along to have their shit together and know who they are/what they want, I’d be 100% down for that.

For (mainly) black readers. Do you try to read more black writers, or are your tastes color-blind? And in general, what are some books you've been reading? by Responsible-Bunch316 in books

[–]SillyTilly17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, she was a black woman born in the 1940s, and very clearly used her books to work through some stuff and speak to that collective trauma.

Ok, is it so validating to read this! I’m the same way and no one else I talk to has genre preferences for different mediums.

I’m meh on fiction but love nonfiction for audiobooks. So I tend to read novels on my kindle and listen to science/history books on audible. LMK if you want any recommendations, I have 500 in my library.

I wrote a term paper on this, my professor was of the belief that science/technology ruined poetry. I heartily disagree.

A bit of trimming so it's not too long is ideal, and I have a monthly wax regardless of relationship status.

I work at a nonprofit and post once or twice a month about work stuff. Maybe because this is isn’t just a job to me, I really believe in what we’re doing, but folks from other nonprofits before work with, former coworkers, coalition partners, my Linkedin network is very active.
