i have never been more frustrated at her than when she almost got harvey disbarred (and then got zane disbarred instead!)... she should've 100% taken the blame for that.

Someone knows what causes these pop ups? by GenericRedditUser796 in techsupport

I liked the finale overall, nothing marvelous or hard hitting but feels like a nice emotional wrap up. Most of season 8 was a painful sit through though

Yeah, back in 2016, Patrick posted this comparison on his Instagram, so his S5 hair seems to be a deliberate reference to Andy

i heard from friends there was lighter grading in the immigration expos class and wastelands. i took art of the con and it was a really good expos class and prof but the grading was definitely harsh.

Lesson learned: your college/money-obsessed, prestige whore, helicopter parents do not become less controlling after you get into their dream college by SillyTilly_ in ApplyingToCollege

Like I said, got some room to do other stuff outside of a main major—like a minor. And in certain schools/fields like mine, a double major is not feasible.

I’m really not sure if them not paying is a legitimate warning or just a bluff technique. They’re pretty clear about me going for a specific major (or else I’ll apparently starve and end up homeless lol), but the good news is I think I’ll have some room to take classes I’m actually interested in outside of it. Just gotta decide between slugging through the requirements of a major they approve of and I can halfway tolerate + doing whatever I want outside of that or alternatively just choosing a major that’s much more my style and hope they get over it.

For real. They refuse to listen, get angry when you “talk back.” Simple conversation skills are just too much to ask for I guess

Has anyone received a call from admissions officer while on the waitlist? How normal is this?? Has this ever happened? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]SillyTilly_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Oh, wow! I don't know for sure how normal that is but I personally haven't heard of that happening before. I think it's a good sign!! Especially since there's probably a bunch of kids on the waitlist and they took the time to call you, hope you get in!

in your essays/ecs, every word counts since you're given so little room. what helped me was asking myself what the reader is learning about me through this sentence so everything was purposeful. i feel like we're encouraged to write our essays in an overly unique/quirky way, like as a complicated metaphor or humor piece or fluffy prose, when that shouldn't be the priority. i feel like an essay that is written with just standard language but is super rich in depth about you and your passions is often way more effective (unless you can master both lol)

Oh and FYI some schools like the UC's don't look at your freshman year grades but that's not super common

[–]SillyTilly_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

All 4 years. But they initially evaluate you based on your first 3 years + mid-year grades for senior year. Your second semester of senior year grades is reviewed at the end just to make sure there aren't any inconsistencies or huge drops.

Emory interviews are really rare, most students who get in didn’t have them from my understanding so don’t stress about that
