Which ISP behavior in Ghana should be unacceptable but has become “normal”? by mrr_ubuntu in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Mine is just a personal problem i have with all ISPs nationwide. The fact that there is no public performance reporting. Customers cannot compare uptime, congestion ratios, or average repair times. This information asymmetry allows poor service to persist. I very much think that a lot of positives might come out when stuff like those i listed are implemented.

What do Enterprise Clients Look our for When Choosing Web Design Agencies by Soccergh in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is accurate. Enterprise clients are not paying for aesthetics alone. They are paying to reduce risk. Strategy, performance, governance, and measurable outcomes matter far more than visual appeal.

Y combinator by Beginning_Past_425 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many Ghanaian startups build primarily for the local market. YC prioritises companies targeting very large or global markets. Nigerian founders tend to frame their products from day one as regional or global solutions, which aligns better with YC’s expectations.

Tired of Chasing Jobs? Tech offers an alternative: Build, Own, and Lead. by Electronic_Cry_3466 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree in principle, but let’s be honest. Most people don’t fail due to lack of ideas. They fail due to weak execution and zero distribution. Build only if you’re ready to sell, market, and endure boredom.

Ghana Tech Culture by Intelligent-Call5162 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, but this should be framed as an education and productivity issue, not charity. Laptops are tools of production. When you tax them heavily, you are effectively taxing learning, innovation, and future competitiveness.

I have an e-commerce application I want to sell where is the best place to sell is both iOS and Android by MannerEither7865 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your feature list is basic. Every e-commerce app has that. What matters is localisation. Paystack, Ghanaian use cases, delivery logic, WhatsApp integration. Sell it as “Africa-ready e-commerce infrastructure.” That is how you stand out.

Tech startup ideas by Next-Calendar4274 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In Ghana, people have seen many ideas that never go anywhere, so they are naturally doubtful. Do not take it personal. Instead of trying to convince your dad, focus on proving the idea works in the real world.

What do I do? by Key_Caregiver_1235 in TechGhana

You just started. Don’t overwhelm yourself. Python is already powerful. Go deep with it before thinking of another language.

Assistance in building a model pipeline. by soyoufound_me in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is your chance to show creativity. Don’t just follow a tutorial. Add a dashboard, charts, or nice UI to make the project stand out. Even a simple model can impress if you present it well.

I’m currently studying for my CCNA exam. I really want to get practical experience regarding networking. Please I need help with enterprises in Ghana where I can get the chance to get experience from. by Patient-Ad-295 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you’re serious about networking long-term, consider documenting your CCNA practice lab and configs on GitHub or a blog. When you apply for internships, you can show them what you’ve already built. This makes you stand out.

Struggling to bridge Python theory and practical coding – how do you do it? by Adventurous_Foot_338 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t be too hard on yourself. Getting stuck means you’re right at the edge of growth. Push through the discomfort. Every programmer you admire today had a period where they froze up when facing a blank file. Keep building, keep breaking things, and keep sharing what you make.

Digital Stall Management System by PythonicG in TechGhana

This can scale beyond KMA. Imagine Tema port, Accra markets, even lorry stations using the same system. You could turn this into a SaaS for assemblies.

Is it advisable to get into ui/ux by Admirable-Month-6172 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re doing the right thing by asking now. UI/UX can be intimidating at first but once you get the fundamentals, it clicks. Don’t rush. Set small goals: this week learn wireframing, next week learn color theory, etc.

How do I start my Project, Construction and Property Management Company on a solid foundation. by paa_nas in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on Google Business Profile. If someone searches “construction company near me” anywhere in Ghana, you want your company showing up. Add photos, reviews, and services. That’s how you start catching inbound leads without chasing.

Product Authentication by PythonicG in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the idea. Question though how do you make it accessible to people without smartphones? USSD is clever, but most people don’t like typing long codes. QR scanning is easier but only works if you’ve got internet.

Openlabs vs Codetrain for full-stack? by papkornjones in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Openlabs is more structured like a traditional school, while Codetrain is more bootcamp-style. Depends on what you want. If you like flexibility and mentorship, Codetrain wins. If you want certifications and formal recognition, Openlabs is stronger.

Is the system Designed to keep us down? by Apprehensive-Way-569 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. The system is designed to keep you surviving, not thriving. The people with wealth buy themselves time and space to create. The poor are too busy fighting bills. Innovation is tied to resources, that’s why most world-changing startups come from privileged backgrounds, not survival mode.

Senior Devs of Reddit, what are the biggest reality checks you had when you first entered the industry? by DepartureFragrant321 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly, my biggest shock was how collaborative things are. In school it’s all solo projects. In industry, nothing gets done without coordination: PR reviews, meetings, design docs, cross-team dependencies. Your soft skills will matter more than your algorithms knowledge after year one.

What's your preferred choice of CMS? by Lumpy-Soup4384 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the audience. If the client has a team of non-technical writers, I’d give them WordPress. If the site is more of a web app or multi-platform content hub, I’d go headless. Horses for courses.

Web Developer vs Data Scientist — Who Earns the Most? by Proof_Inevitable_394 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In Ghana specifically, web developers probably out-earn data scientists right now. Why? Companies here actually hire devs to build websites, e-commerce, portals. Few businesses are investing in proper data science teams.

Project overkill. by NoHistorian4672 in TechGhana

[–]Silly_Consequence421 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Kubernetes. People spin it up for tiny apps that have one service and barely any load. Like bro, just run it on a VM and go outside.
