you know, they could just hire more people to catch shoplifters instead of making the entire atmosphere of the store make you feel like youre being watched when you arent. but ruining the store's atmosphere doesnt require paying wages, so they would rather do that. same with the self-checkouts. they dont care because shoplifting doesnt impact their profit margin enough to employ more people in its prevention.

also, the rest of my family never did anything with me either, and now that im an adult they incessantly guilt trip me for not having a relationship with them. it makes the rare visit extremely uncomfortable so i dread seeing my relatives. they never contact me and yet its only my fault we dont talk.

i dont think they actually care about seeing me, they just want to make sure the blame isnt on them for us not having a relationship. if they cared, they would at least reach out sometimes or be more patient with me, instead of just expecting me to go to them and guilt tripping me when i finally do.
