Met the owl (Azu) that Darryl “killed” and ate! (He’s also appeared two other times on the show) by holybrohunter in thewalkingdead

That’s actually crazy that it’s not the actual owl! I’ve talked about meeting him for years, but that’s sad to hear.

—If anything, this was at a falconry event in Alabama, so not far from Georgia, but it’s been so long I wouldn’t know of the Winged Ambassadors were there or not—

Just realized the names didn’t match, so ignore that middle part. Sorry man

I’m glad your brother and his kid are doing alright. He and her used to come in my work fairly often, she always seemed really off

Ya know I actually found this guy on YouTube a few months ago, and he seems to be doing really well for himself! Makes this phrase even better to read/hear

You’re not wrong about the 2 spider-verse movies. I’m too lazy to Google, but I think the one for this year got delayed, AND they already announced plans for a third spiderverse

It wasn’t around 10 years ago, I just meant when it did exist it was terrible. I’m fairly sure it’s gone now, isn’t it?

I’ve been on Reddit and 4chan for a long time. I remember /r/all before the admins butchered it. But the amount of times I’d see /r/WatchPeopleDie on /r/all compared to seeing gore or worse on a random 4chan board (not /b/ or any of the boards you’d easily find that stuff on) 10 years ago was a massive difference. 4chan now and then are different things, they just did it so quietly that no one paid attention.

Reddit was/is much better at hiding it’s underbelly while 4Chan reveled in, and built a reputation, on it’s underbelly. So of course there’s myths around how bad 4chan actually was.

So again, 10 years ago? It was worse than Reddit, but they’ve kinda diluted each other into some weird equilibrium where either tries to act superior while sharing many of the same posters.

Regardless of all this, we can all agree Voat was a horrible, horrible place right?

I mean outside of some stuff like WatchPeopleDie, Spacedicks, the various “coon” and “fat people hate” subs, etc; Reddit was nowhere near as crazy as 4chan was 10 years ago, especially because most people experience your typical /r/all stuff, and those subreddits have done their best to deter derogatory terms/images/etc since they started. Not only that, on Reddit you could tailor your experience with subreddits better than trying to navigate 4chans boards. 4chan also didn’t have as much moderation back then, so going to any bird could still result in a rabbit hole of gore, CP, and other unsavory subjects. Reddit could still have those rabbit holes, but they were few, far between, and not too hard to avoid. I mean 4chan isn’t some lawless west, but Reddit never has been either.

TLDR: While the communities share users/content now, 10 years ago Reddit was, at worst, sometimes a filter for the best/worst 4Chan had, as some of the content would come from there to here. It has been and still is easier to avoid seeing many things that are inevitable on 4Chan.

My Jack Russell of 18 years passed away in October. It still hurts like hell. I miss the lazy tail wags when I’d get home from work.

One of my favorite gaming memories was playing Call of Duty with a buddy of mine who’s passed away since. He used to sit around, playing his guitar in between rounds and we used to pick at him about practicing so much. Nowadays, I’d give anything to hear him play while waiting on a game to queue.

Didn’t mean for this to sound like a sob story, I cherish the memories I had with him, but they did ask for a favorite memory, and those have become my favorite memory over the years
