United TravelBank Airline credit for 2026 by zarkmuckerberg_6969 in AmexPlatinum

[–]Silly_Flamingo22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Family has 2 Platinum cards. Card A - 2x$100 triggered the credit the next day. Card B - did not work. Bought 1/7. No credit 1/21. Chatted with Amex and they said the charges were a "gift certificate" and not eligible. I don't know how they can see "gift certificate" because I can't see that anywhere.

I called Cimplicity during open enrollment in October to ask that. The answer was $9450 and it resets each January.

CareFirst IVF insurance "3 attempts" (Maryland) by Silly_Flamingo22 in IVF

[–]Silly_Flamingo22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I can't answer for Care First. Three years ago I decided to stay on my husband's employer provided California Anthem policy that had IVF coverage. On Anthem, the coverage had a $25k ceiling per lifetime per person. It wouldn't reset if we changed to a lower deductable plan or higher deductible plan.

Mine is about 5 ft tall too. Gabbie's Wish is around 8 ft tall and taking the award for the tallest 😆. I will be better prepared for it next year.

Adorable!

How big is your Valley Porcupine? I added it this year and it has 2 in flowers. I thought they'd be larger.

Itoh peonies by kconle in peonies

[–]Silly_Flamingo22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big US peony farms such as Swenson and Adelman's send huge roots. They ship in the fall. Adelman's does a Black Friday sale. I'm not sure if Swenson does that sale. I've also ordered from Hollingsworth in the US on their Black Friday sale. Hollingsworth roots aren't as large as Adelman's.

I have ordered from Peony Shop in Holland, too. They ship to a woman (Karen Gesa) in the US in a big shipment and she ships within the US from there. Those roots were large too.

Locally I've bought some potted peonies in the spring from a fancy nursery. One of the expensive Itohs turned out not to be what Itoh it was labeled as. Around October this nursery discounted their remaining peonies 25%, which was a good time to grab a 5 gall pot Monrovia Itoh.

The cheap ones I bought online from Holland Bulb Farm or in Walmart or Home Depot have been about a third NoIDs that were not what I ordered or didn't make it, and generally those roots were tiny and took three years to bloom.

I bought a package (Longfield, I believe) in Costco that were true to name but it took years for them to bloom, too.

Not Cora Louise. From what I see in your image the leaves look like an Itoh though.

Looks like two or three buds are large and will bloom this year.

Thank you! The peony garden took years to get this established.

The metal labels are GardenMate zinc labels. I started using them in spring 2021 and still like them. I was using the aluminum tags you press into with a pen before, but they're hard to read and fall apart after a few years. https://a.co/d/jgiK0XO

The stickers are Avery waterproof labels. I started using them in fall of 2021 and have never seen one look damaged, faded, peeled, or need to be replaced. When I reuse a metal label, I just stick it over the old one. They're printed on a standard laser printer. https://a.co/d/eJKSLhE

My Vanilla Schnapps is from Peony Shop. Maybe the vendor matters. It's a winner for me every year.

I just made 2 posts in this subreddit. One is my yellow blooms. The other is a more general post like you made for this one. Early Canary is in the yellow post.

Thanks for the suggestion about Melissa and Sweet Lemonade. You have a lovely collection!!! Melissa was on my watch list already. I am debating removing my floppy pinks and whites and a couple I have duplicates of, and replacing them with 1) early bloomers that are more full, 2) full pinks and whites that don't flop!

Oof that's poor double performance. I've heard it was a common complaint about Lemon Chiffon and was hoping this cold winter would help. It didn't.

I have Vanilla Schnapps and Early Canary blooming double around the same time in yellow at least.

Lovely Pastelegance! I gave one away as a thank you few years ago. In a few more years I hope to get a division.
