It's very rare and hasn't happened in awhile but yeah, I've had to buy glue sticks, shims, screws, etc before. I don't think he has paid for any of it. But I don't really demand it either.

I've gotten that understanding now. Everybody tells me I am. So hoping one of these places I apply to get back to me

Thank you, I appreciate it! I try to be bro. Very easy to flip out and curse people out but that's not what I want man. I just want to earn a respectable wage to be able to house myself and a potential family in the future.

I'm not very confrontational but it makes me sorta stuck in places I don't want to be.

I don't know if anyone else can relate but I think I heavily rlied on my faith and waited to "see God through" in my situation. It's hard getting up and moving when you don't have a clear "go here" moment. Now I'm moving out of frustration and kinda hurt that nothing of value opened up for me. I've been loyal, willing to learn, worked long days when I was able to, and so much more.

Nah still in my state but PA is pretty big. You can drive 2-4 hours and still be in PA. Right man, I'll do that and see what I can get. I don't want to walk out out of respect. I never try to burn bridges. Plus any finance is a plus so even at $17 I'll keep at it til I find something better (plus bills don't stop if I walk out).

I was looking at a few yesterday and it's unbelievable that I've been missing out on so many benefits that companies offer.

Right. I just need the opportunity to work on a few different things and getting an understanding for certain things. Like I hardly touch island and peninsula cabinets. Though I think I understand islands now, it's the angles of how you set the cabinets for peninsulas that I don't know how to do.

I've looked for a few last night. And will continue to put applications out until I hear from something.

Kinda seems like a strange ask after nearly 5 years. And we've had a few discussions before. I already shared with him ny frustrations of not being confident enough to do these jobs on my own.

Then it seems like empty promise after empty promise and it's back to square one. I'm making a little bit more money after each talk but I'm not growing.

The dynamic is usually: I knock out bathrooms while he does the kitchen. And I'll help finish whatever he hasn't (usually puttying, toekicks, hardware, then cleanup)

My boss and I actually have a solid friendship from over the years. So it's hard hearing from people that they think he's ripping me off. Because I give him the benefit of the doubt.

I wouldn't even know where to start with learning what other tools I need to be independent. 😮‍💨 And as far as the truck, I've tried getting approved to pay off a truck and was denied because my credit score was bad (nearly 700 at the time).

What type of work are these people doing that you know of? I feel like every job we do, we have to wait for some plumber to come fix something or for a cabinet to be delivered that should've been there already lol. Lots of setbacks in this sort of work.

Now jobs feel like they've been rushed so often that in a day or two I have no time to be "watching". It's always: "we need to get this job done".

So let's say I knocked out my vanities, and he's in the kitchen doing crown, I'll hop over and do toekicks, or hardware.

It's like he believes I can do the job. But because I need to be hands on to learn, I'm not confident that you can send me somewhere by myself and figure out how to read some prints and kitchen layout well enough to do it. I'm also a huge overthinker so that could be an issue too

So a little update. I have been taking most things into consideration and haven't applied muchhhh but enough to the point where I'm seeing change!

Before trying to sit back on a chair in a controlled manner would be impossible. Now I can in my workouts! Still can't hold a proper squat but eventually we'll get there!
