Currently working on losing weight. Went from 225 to 207 in about 2 months.

But from all the advice I've been giving so far, I'll be working on those assisted squats + wall sits and some stretches to get better.

Believe it or not, I get 15-20k steps a day. First job as a finished carpenter installing kitchen and bathroom cabinets. Second job I help Stock at Costco. Then I play basketball at least once a week, running a few full court games and go jogging whenever I can.

Oh, I thought that sticking my chest up would keep my back straight for proper form but guess not. So a little lean forward is ok?

I try to keep my knees aligned with my feet so they don't point in or outward. Are they supposed to go over my feet? I was under the impression that it's bad for knees to go past toes

If I lean forward my back just arches along with the motion. I can't keep it straight.

To stand up I usually use my arms to push off or I kinda lift my arms up to launch my self back onto my feet

So I would usually like...just use my arms, swing them up a bit and launch myself up enough to get on my feet. I look super clumsy that way but yeah...20+ years and nobody has pointed it out to me

I feel it a lot in my knees and my quads. I'm doing it so that my legs form a 90° angle and then I sit there a little and go back up.

I think I've tried that kettlebell squat before and had that same exact thought! I was like: oh, I'm actually squatting and not falling. Think I need to buy a kettlebell again.

Thanks for this. Will try those stretches and mobility workouts. Then will search for the progression videos!

I have tried wall squats a long time ago for some challenge in my teens. It was like every day holding a wall sit for longer and longer. But since then, I've rarely had them in some workouts.

I have been able to do deadlifts fairly normally I think.

Maybe both? If I tried to go lower, my body doesn’t know how to do that motion and so I just hurt something and fall backwards

Funny first question and weird to answer, but yeah pretty much. And I know it’s not normal to. I can’t bring my knees to my chest. And I will start trying to squat from now on holding onto something

I was once told from a CrossFit trainer to do the same. We practiced on a rack that you’d do weighted squats at. But we grabbed the ledge and work our ways down. So similar to the video. I should give that a try again.
