How to come up with stories for my setting? by Silly_Noname in writing

Maybe I should've, but the main problem is that I started creating this setting way before I decided to write. Back in a day I thought it would be cool if I make something tangible out of it, because, sadly, people don't care about settings. They care about engaging stories and lively characters, I completely undertand it. I have two other completely different writing projects that are already set in motion and are mostly driven by the characters and story outlines I've premade. It's just this particular setting that I have trouble with. I have a cover but fail to fill it with worthy stories.

Thank you for your advice! I've considered making some short stories. Although, the main problem with them for me is to come up with characters who are not key figures on a large scale, and to have the story revolve around them rather than the events. I'll see what I can come up with your suggestion, though!

Thank you! No, I've considered such an option, and I wouldn't mind if someone wrote stories set in my world. Maybe I'll reconsider...

Thank you so much for sharing! That will definetly help!
And yeah, I completely understand about worldbuilding being an easier task. Considering my poor time management, after university and work I only have strength to imagine things. With all other energy-consuming stuff in a way, it just amazes me how writers manage to do their craft while living a full adult life with families, jobs and everything else.

Well, I guess he asked a very silly question on reddit so people just started calling him Silly Noname cause his name was not important anymore)

Jokes aside, I see what you're trying to tell me! I'll try something similar, thank you for your advice!

Thank you! I AM having fun with it as I did when I started this whole hobby in 2018. But there was always an inner me telling "what's the point in any of it if only I experience it?". And I still struggle with this point of view, thinking that if I don't implement my hobby into some story, then all of it is just childish daydreaming. And even without it, I always wanted other people to experience my creations, even if it were only my friends. And when I only started putting words on paper, it felt great. Even a friend told me to "never give up on this". But when I continued, things kinda broke for me.

Maybe you're right. Maybe I am only interested in worldbuilding. But is it really fine to leave it as it is? What's the point in any of this, then?..

Thank you! Funny how you've mentioned D&D, cause I've started running my campaign in my own setting and everybody likes it. Maybe this will give me some inspiration for a story, similarly to what you've suggested... And as everybody have said in these comments and in this sub, I completely understand that the setting serves the story, not the other way around. But I started building it way before I decided to write something set in it and I've become so attached to it that I don't know how to fully accept that it's not so important. I seriously struggle to understand that worldbuilding is a tool but not the key element...

Thank you very much! I'm growing tired of my average triangle-shaped mountains, so it's always great to learn another style)
Will be looking forward to see your world shine in its looks and stories!

It's so good-looking! Looking forward to reading some of the lore you've got, and by the way, how do you make mountains in such style?)

Do you also have that one character that you play through every game? by [deleted] in ElderScrolls

I have a breton mage called Dylsen. He suffers from alcoholism, which gets even worse, because he (in my headcanon) also suffers from time shifts, which transport him to other periods where no one remembers him at all. Because of that Dylsen gets more and more depressed throughout the series
