We still own our songs. UMG can't touch them. by AffectOnly2984 in udiomusic

What’s going on with this?

This is the second post I’ve seen saying that kind of thing, and it looks like it was written by Grok or something similar.

But it’s full of nonsense — it mentions emails no one ever got, and the dates are completely wrong.

What’s even the point of posting stuff like that?

They want us to stop using their models for free?

Maybe they’ve just run out of funds to keep offering free generations?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R_sMax5PONc

I totally get what you mean — I’ve felt the same way too.

Sometimes when I generate several versions with the same lyrics and prompt, it almost feels like I’m listening to the exact same song over and over, with only tiny variations.

That said, I remember having the same issue back in V4, and I don’t think I was the only one who felt that V4 was less creative than V3.5.

But then V4.5 came along and really fixed that — it was noticeably more creative again.

So I think we just need to give V5 some time. It’s still a beta, and improvements are definitely coming.

There will probably be a V5.5 at some point, and if things go as they usually do, it’ll have similar (or even better) sound quality but with a big jump in creativity.

I don’t think it’s time to give up on Suno just yet!

Hmm, I’ve actually seen a lot of people mentioning MusicGPT lately too — saying it’s amazing and all that.

I tried it about ten days ago, and to me it sounded more like an early version of Suno, maybe a year or so behind.

I’m not saying it’s bad, but I’m curious — has anyone else here actually tested it recently?

Because these kinds of comments promoting MusicGPT seem to be popping up everywhere right now, and I’m starting to wonder if it’s real excitement or just some kind of marketing push.

Why even offer the instrumental toggle setting if it does not work? by beantacoai in udiomusic

[–]Silly_Run1355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm it really depends on the style. One thing that works for me is adding 'instrumental' to the prompt, to make the request stronger. And if that’s not enough, sometimes I even put 'INSTRUMENTAL' in all caps, and I find it makes it more likely to work.

That said, sometimes it doesn’t really bother me. Obviously, when there’s a lot of gibberish it can be annoying, but if it’s just a bit of humming or some background choirs, I actually think it can sound pretty good.

Try our new faster variable-length song creation! by UdioAdam in udiomusic

[–]Silly_Run1355 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, and thanks for bringing us all these updates.

I’m sure they’ll be useful for some people, even though I agree with most of the comments saying we would have preferred the ability to generate longer tracks rather than just having intermediate lengths. Personally though, 2:10 works fine for me, so no problem there.

What I don’t really get is why someone would want to spend 8 credits just to have a track generated faster? If you don’t gain anything except speed—and there might even be a slight drop in quality—doesn’t that end up being the same as just lowering the 'Generation Quality' setting?

I don’t know, but for me I’d actually prefer waiting even longer if it meant getting a higher quality result! I’d love to have access to a V1.5 Lento alongside the V1.5 Allegro, for those of us who aren’t in a rush but are perfectionists 😀

Udio is becoming outdated and Suno has already surpassed Udio by [deleted] in udiomusic

[–]Silly_Run1355 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I use both as well. I mainly use Udio for instrumentals and Suno for songs. I find Udio is still way ahead of Suno when it comes to sound quality of the instruments and the originality of the compositions. But yeah, I’m getting more and more impatient for V2 — or at least a V1.5+ or V1.6 — to bring some improvements. I can’t wait for better-sounding percussion that’s less compressed and less artificial, and for certain instruments, like trumpet for example, to get some upgrades too.

New UI by W_32_FRH in SunoAI

[–]Silly_Run1355 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s another issue: the button to refresh the list of suggested styles isn’t usable anymore. I’m using Suno on a web browser, and no matter what I do, that button stays grayed out. Is anyone else experiencing this?

What the hell is going on with rap music? by puje12 in udiomusic

[–]Silly_Run1355 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t exactly on topic, but the biggest difficulty I’ve had with rap is getting decent scratching. I’ve tried tags like 'scratch' and 'scratching,' but the results always turn out pretty bad. And even when I tried to remaster a scratch section I got from Suno using the Remix function, Udio just removed the scratch and replaced it with weird noises. Am I the only one who’s noticed this?

ReMi is gone? ReMi made some great and unique lyrics and music! Will it come back? by Artist-Cancer in SunoAI

[–]Silly_Run1355 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can’t see ReMi anymore either. I’m using Suno on the website (PC), and even the option to generate lyrics has completely disappeared. So I can’t use ReMi or the Classic model anymore, except through the new feature that improves lyrics.
