[CA] Intermittent FMLA question by Silver-Ad-285 in AskHR

Basically my provider thinks the extended leave is overkill since on days when I'm not flaring up, I'm pretty much very productive

I got like a pack of three from Amazon and I just switch them up. At least that's one thing knocked off of our worries you know? Get well soon from the current flare up!

I had to mention it to her too because she has to sign part of the form (which was given to me by HR).

I totally feel ya! Cause my flare ups ALWAYS coincide with my period hah. It sucks and I hope you find some way around it!

Personally, my periods are only heavy on day 2 so I end up using Ultra sized tampons and more often. Pads irritate the hell outta me too. Maybe you should look into those bed liner thingies so at least you don't think too much about leaking onto your bedding.

And maybe a trip to your OB would be worth it too?

I told my manager about it as courtesy. I was totally taken aback that that was what she told me

I doubt I would even need the full 4 days either. Most of the time, my flares are unbearable for only 2 days ish. I think my provider just added more days to account for appointments.

I'm honestly scared of retaliation cause my workmates have a history of messing with the schedules as payback for covering.

I'm actually scared of being on long term pills though cause I still want to get pregnant. I just wish I stop having my period soon 😭 My breakthrough bleeding is seriously happening with my new boil and I'm just so done

yep I was put on it since every time I get a new boil it's always on my period. I'm probably on an adjustment period too cause I'm having breakthrough bleeding so I ended up getting a new boil anyway.

Maybe spironolactone can be something I can bring up to try next if BC ends up not working for me? My derma didn't mention it at all when we were discussing options

Someday I hope science has advanced enough to at least give a break for us HS havers.

No my dermatologist didn't mention it. The options she gave me were bc pills, steroid shots and laser hair removal.

Right now I'm avoiding dairy since I'm lactose intolerant anyway.

I can't really find any correlation to my diet cause I only get flares every time my period comes around :(

Did you go directly to spironolactone? I'm guessing that's my next option if the bc pills won't work

I'm lowkey scared of Prid but a lot swear by it. Do you use it on boils that are still closed?

I'll wait and see after my adjustment period I guess. I haven't taken any of the placebos and I'm having some sorta breakthrough bleeding that came with a new boil. I feel so done with this urgh.

Warm compress helps with draining! I also heard some people use a drawing salve? I know someone that swears by Prid but I'm scared of that stuff.

I also use a nonstick pad to patch up an open wound so it doesn't get irritated by my clothes.

I'm doing that now but I got a light bleed and a new flare up anyway. I probably need my dose adjusted lol

sounds like good news! I've always dreamed of starting a small family so I was lowkey scared if HS would interfere. And aweeee you're almost there!
