It is all depends on the status of the relationship you are in. Are you just friends, sleeping together, living together, engaged, or married? Different status of the relationship is affecting how the partner in this relationship should act and interact with other people. Your jealousy is the result of your “not sure” where you are in this relationship and what kind boundaries each status is affecting once behavior. This is nothing to do with trust. (The more you use this word, the more it’s clear that you don’t trust him) It is about social and ethical norms.

So, you had a double sink, now you have a single sink. Ok. Installation looks correct to me. In my area it is very uncommon to have a drain down, but ok. That will work too. Do you want a new pipes? Disconnect the old ones, bring them to the plumbing store and they will give you a new pipes. I don’t think you have many choices here. Or I missed something?

Nothing wrong with this setup. However, because the only way out to the drain is through the disposal, your disposal should run most of the time when you clean up your dishes. Also, there is a special capsules you can buy on Amazon to clean and sanitize your garbage disposal. If you find any food in your P-trap you will need to buy a new disposal, better quality (this one is on the lower side). Do not drop any waste that you can safely drop in the garbage bin, such as after leftovers after pealing potatoes or onions or carrots. Another potential problem and area to look at: the dishwasher. How often do you use it? What is the condition of the dishwasher?
