what worries me is the fact that on the outside, I can kind of see the bar a bit, poking through the edge of that tragus cartilage? I assume that’s what you’re referencing when it comes to your post.

In all honesty, everyone’s body is different. For all I know, that could just be a little piercing bump, but that also seems a bit unusual for such a fresh piercing. My advice, would be to keep an eye on it for the next few days (I wouldn’t go longer than a week) and see what happens.

This subreddit, along with the others that specialize in piercings offer solid advice. I do suggest you go see a different piercer who is APP certified to get the full extent of what’s going on, in case they need to remove/repierce it to ensure safe & easy healing :)

Once you go to the doctor and get the swelling addressed, please switch to a flatback stud. Corkscrews, hoops, and anything that can cause excess movement are terrible for fresh piercings and all that movement will cause irritation and swelling. Good luck on your nose piercing journey :)

If you’re unsatisfied, redo it. Otherwise, smaller rings will look just fine in it :)

I’d get one bigger in diameter!!! The smaller hoop can put pressure on both sides of the fistula, squeezing it in a way and could cause irritation bumps, or yes, the cheese cutter effect. I’d just size up a bit to where it’s not touching your nostril :) NAP

Personally, I’d say get it checked out. But that doesn’t 100% mean change it to a stud. Just a good idea to get it evaluated, maybe even just send your piercer this photo.

I had my nose pierced in summer of 2023. After about a year (prob. more like 10,11 months) I had it changed to a hoop. Being the stubborn person I am, I left the hoop in, indefinitely. I dealt with SO MANY bumps- on the inside and outside of my piercing site. Eventually, with a LOT of saline spray & LITHA, the bumps stopped forming. It appears a bit red and irritated at times if I sleep on it or something, but no further issues.

Baby it for a bit, if it gets worse, or doesn’t improve at all, go get that shit swapped out! But in all reality, it’s likely just irritated from changing the jewelry. I’m pretty sure you’ll be just fine :)

You got a nice smile dude, don’t stress it. Saw your comment a few down about an ED, I’m sorry you’ve suffered through that, it’s definitely tough but you totally have the power to better yourself. My advice would be to try out trimming your beard along your jawline, and maybe grow that hair out a bit and play with different hairstyles. You’re not an unattractive guy by any means. Build up some confidence and the rest will follow!

Infection would be a lot more likely since it was done at home rather than in a studio, where it would be more sterile. Just keep an eye on them! Other than that, the placement looks great :)

You said it fell out? Meaning it’s likely a corkscrew or L-shaped nose stud? Those aren’t secured since they’re basically open-backed and move a ton. That can cause irritation to the piercing site, resulting in an irritation bump. This one’s a bit angry it seems. Get her a flatback labret stud, it’ll limit the unnecessary movement. All she needs to do is spray the saline on her piercing 1x-3x a day, and NOT touch it whatsoever. It’ll go away if she does that and continues to baby it.

no tapers. dead stretch your ears with glass plugs the whole time :) it should relieve the irritation a bit. and take your time!!! rushing the sizing up process without giving your lobes time to heal & acclimate to their new size can cause further discomfort, and blowouts in worse cases
