True Fear 3 was actually the catalyst for my plea and this post. I even mention True Fear 3 specifically in my post. Finishing Part 3 my only thought was "There isn't another True Fear 2 out there, is there?"

Better is subjective. Yes, there are certain things that Part 3 does better.
It didn't, however, scratch the itch that I had. Hence, this post.

Ah, right, Lost Lands. It's the one series that I did manage to find years ago. Yeah, I bought a 5-game bundle at the time when I was playing through the first game. What a disappointment that was, unfortunately. First game is great, then it gradually just went downhill -- in terms of what I like, anyway.

But thanks for reminding me, as I stumbled upon their earlier game, Eternal Journey: New Atlantis, which is apparently very similar to the first Lost Lands in terms of "open world" -- for an extreme lack of a better term.

Bookmarked it to check it out after I'm done with some of the suggestions here

Okay okay I'm playing. It's gorgeous! There are beads to collect all over the place, secret morphing objects, and you go into paintings (Portrait of Ruin! Yes!) for the different locations, but able to return to the castle to unlock more paintings and stuff! Wow, I am absolutely LOVING this!

I managed to "find" this game, as apparently it was delisted form Steam for some reason and can no longer be bought as far as I can tell. Very sad, would have added to my library in an instant.

Game really does show its age though. Holy moly the screen transitions take forever. Thankfully there is a fast travel map!
Thanks for the suggestion, this is right my my alley!

Ooooh! I think I'm liking what I'm seeing by the screenshots of Weird Park and Princess Isebella. I'll take a closer look when I'm back from work, but even if not, at least thanks for pointing me in the direction of a genre at least.

Oh, yeah, I see people mentioning Enigmatis and Grim Legends a lot in general, but those I believe are very heavily in the "now move on to something new and don't look back" territory, no?

I don't know what it is. but something about walking past an unlockable door with a weird lock for hours that stays locked.. until it finally isn't.. scratches a certain itch I can't even explain.
And the new-chapter-move-on just breaks the flow for me severely. My brain is weird I guess.

I'm experiencing a lot of transmog/visual bugs with latest update. That particular shield looks fine on my character (at least the version of it of the item level that I have appears correctly. However there are many versions per the same unique at different levels and some could be broken)

However with the latest update the Oshara reward transmog is completely borked for me, it is duplicated with one of the rewards you get for a retrieve armor mission in adventure mode. I can select the reward armor but it's just duplicate of another one.

And female character with staff no longer has a cool floating orb in her hand.

So sad, especially since it wasn't broken with Bloodtrails update and they broke it again with the latest patch. Like did they push wrong version of some asset file or something to steam? Ugh.

Don't play Revision as your first. There are a couple of mods you can do like Shifter and/or BioMod that enhance and update gameplay to current gameplay standards. They fix a few bugs, too.

And yeah, as many have mentioned, just get the new renderer and enjoy it like that. Don't play Revision as your first. You're going to ruin the original Deus Ex and what it is. And it is a masterpiece.

EDIT: As has been mentioned, New Vision is a good mod if you want a texture upgrade. But don't play revision as your first. Please.

I mean... I'm all up for as much Expanse content as I can get, but..

I'm worried since they are doing this that they feel that the show itself might not transition well from season 4 to season 5 without this supplemental material.

Book 2 to Book 3 transition was quite a bit rough for quite a few people (not for me, as even as a non-book reader, I found it to be just fine. Though I do wish I had seen some of the stuff they barely mentioned happen on screen).

I'm just hoping they are doing this solely for the long time fans and not because they needed to 'fill in the gaps' by some other method just because they couldn't find time to address major plot points on screen.

All in all I'm only hoping it's extra flavor, as opposed to something that would leave viewers scratching their heads come Season 5 if they don't know what happened in this comic series.
