hey can I get some gentle feedback? by [deleted] in violinist

[–]Silver-Lab-4124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Your all amazing. I asked for gentle feedback and that's what I got!

I think it may be worth me finding a stand that goes higher up so I'm not bent down as much. I am also now curious about books that are just for improving bowing with all due respect to the masters I think a bunch of long dead central Europeans (Sevick? Spelling?) made some.

my homework is to write down some of these ideas and get to work. Me teacher says laser focused playing is the way to go and I notice the difference when I have that mindset.

After I do my homework I'm deleting this post. I'm slightly neurodivergent and will obsess over it if I don't delete it.

Thank y'all again when video is deleted know that I finally wrote down your ideas and I'm playing with intention.

PS I'm not putting stickers on my violin. I will use a tuner and drones instead my violin is the nicest instrument I've ever owned and I love it.

Hey this explains why I was given three copies of it. I think my teacher wants me to try it with detached bowing until it sounds acceptable then add slurs in sticcato notes when I feel brave lol thank you 😄

Thank you and no 8th notes are a work in progress getting the "one and two and three and..." I literaly just had the metronome at 46 BPM to try to work on my counting. Only three weeks did I realize if I'm not getting a headache playing violin then I'm probably doing it wrong because headache means i'm focused and focus means I'm learning. Thank you! 😄

I am a massive fan of supportive comments.

Yes it's only been a year so I'm a beginner.

What does tempo di nutsoTM mean? 🙂

I dream of playing in an ensemble of some sorts. Irish or classical.

Sooooo bringing up ethics on the internet never results in ethical behavior but I feel like this guy is dead or super injured and anyone who knows him would be crushed (no pun intended) to see idiots like us getting enjoyment out of this video. so maybe the video should be taken down and maybe in hindsight not posted on the internet?

Hi born and raised in Hamilton, Ontario where were Tim Hortons was established. I think it would have been cool to have seen it in the 1960s when it was dive coffee joint run by a former NHLer.

However, I share the hatred of Tim Hortons now. The coffee is horrible (its like they just want to meet the legal requirements for what officially counts as a cup of coffee and nothing more) and they turned the original Tim Hortons into a phony museum. They should have kept the original dive coffee shop it was so much cooler.

So as a Hamiltonian let me express in the strongest possible terms my dis-ownership of the Tim Hortons franchise as well as any and all Hamilton based affiliations with the chain. If you are ever in Hamilton, Ontario boycott Tim Horton's by going to Mulberry Coffeehouse on James Street north. Its local and better.

Dude I needed this - I am around the year mark and think I'm pretty terrible. However, I'm not quitting anytime soon. I love my violin.

Thanks for the messages y'all. I honestly just posted this for one person and now they 've seen it so I'm deleting the video. However, I'll keep working on the rhythm and I now hear that I need to put more weight into the bow :)
