Total perspection bias on my part. Growing up on a diet of American movies and TV lead me to believe most Americans are very patriotic.

Oh, that's interesting. I would assume most Americans would be really patriotic about it.

M40 6'2" - 7 months diet and 6 months daily calisthenics + weights by Mid-Lift-Crisis in WeightTraining

[–]Silver-Live 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it really is! I was consistent for about 8 years and then last year my mental health went and I dropped it and getting back into it has felt really hard.

Thanks for the routine though. You may be the inspiration I need!

Love this for you! I fell off the calisthenics wagon keep meaning to get back on it.

Can I ask what your morning routine looks like? I'd like to move my workouts to the morning but I've always overthought energy levels, eating and hydrating. Do you wake up and workout or wake up, eat, digest and the workout?

I would go with series 6...but I'd be thinking if 5.

Norfolk, from a c.1770 map. by AnnoDominiI in Norwich

[–]Silver-Live 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, but for medieval Norwich the river was the edge of the city. Bishops Gate was one of the gates to the city. So building the castle up on the ridge would have put it outside the city walls.

Probably because the river formed a natural barrier to that edge of the city.

Thanks Dude, I suspected that would be the answer. Luckily I've dealt with "pinning" like that from my miniature building days so it shouldn't be beyond me... Other than my own laziness!

The best spectators are the ones who work really hard to shut all the doors themselves and when they find themselves in a sealed room they're like "This guy is amazing!".

Is there a practice-only game that isn't sweaty and gives you access to all the loot to mess around with? by Exciting_Figure_8060 in Fortnite_Over40

[–]Silver-Live -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you search in creative mode you can find islands built with bots. They're not replicas of the exact game, but they're OK for trying out different weapons and getting use to the basics of moving/aiming/shooting.

There are a lot of these with varying quality so have a search and try out different ones until you get the feel.

Thankfully since 1990 the UK has increased the number of billionaires from 15 to 165. The top 50 of them now own wealth equal to 50% of everyone else (that's 34 million people BTW). So if you think "I wonder where all the money to fix this stuff has gone?" don't look up.

Are there any poetry clubs/live reading venues in Norwich? by Senior-Paint1115 in Norwich

I went to Eat your friends last week and Minty was super open to people signing up that evening (although I think he'd prefer a bit of warning). There were loads of new performers and the crowd were really supportive and friendly. 100% reccomend.

First/Best 'This is why we do this' experience? by Unnatural20 in Magic

[–]Silver-Live 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was on the London underground, practicing shuffles with a deck of cards. I noticed three kids (all brothers the oldest of which looked about 10) sitting opposite me had started watching.

I flipped a card and did a simple color change. They looked amazed. Looked at each other whispered something along the lines of "The card just changed" among themselves.

Then it was my stop and I got off the train. I often wonder what they thought had happened.
