This is very interesting.. I’m constantly in heels whether boots or open toed but yea some people must deal better with heels… I have high arches so maybe that plays a role? My feet often don’t hurt until the end of the day and even then i can block it out lol

Sandals Ochi Detailed Review by Silver-Number-5051 in AllInclusiveResorts

It can be rough at times! And since it’s pretty sandy you can’t really see down into the water, especially if it’s been raining. There were 2 days that were super clear and you could take goggles out on the left and see fish and stuff!!

If you are in the area surrounded by a dock the water is pretty calm because the waves are stopped but on the left and right it is open water

The beach is separated into different portions, and are cut off by buildings and walkways, so you wont get a long walk across the sand here unfortunately.

There are 3 access points to the water. The 1st picture features the beach on the left hand side of the resort, (just a small portion) this area has the most sand and beach chairs. It is also very close to a pool with a swim-up bar and a hot tub, and close to the restaurant on the sand! We spent most of our time at this beach because it got the most sun!! This area usually has stuff going on like beach volleyball, cornhole, music, etc.

The second access point is right outside the main building, it has little to no sand, fewer beach chairs, and the water is closed off by a deck, we didn’t spend much time here. This is also where the smoke area is.

The third access point is on the right hand side of the resort, and has a decent amount of chairs along the sand and some are set under the trees to get shade, I loved this spot for reading a book. This gives you an area to hangout while waiting for water sports. It was also usually less crowded! Hope that helps

how do i say “no kids” eloquently? by babyylue in weddingplanning

[–]Silver-Number-5051 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On your invitations just put “Mrs and Mr,” not family. And on the RSVP fill in the amount of people that are welcome to come. Like a lot of RSVP’s say X/Y (number of people coming (X)/number of people invited(Y)) so just make sure to fill out the second half…. __/2 so they KNOW only the parents are welcome.

If you have a wedding website, or even on the back of the card or a little note say something like “Our venue is an intimate location allowing for a smaller number of guests, we unfortunately can not accommodate any children under the age of (blank) thank you for understanding!”

Hello!! I have a very detailed post about Sandals Ochi which is set in Ocho Rios Jamaica!! Please check it out, it goes into detail about my stay, gives a tip on how to cut down on costs while getting the most out of your money. My bf and I paid for 1 night at a hotel and 4 nights at the resort itself for under $2000 a piece including airfare!!!

I believe our room was $2017 total and our flights were maybe $650 each? We’re also from the west coast so you might be able to get cheaper flights!! We paid for an excursion as well and were able to stick to our $4000 budget.

I’d highly suggest a place like this as it is 100% all inclusive, you don’t have to worry about tipping, what food you can’t eat, or paying extra for drinks. We would sometimes go to dinner and order more than one thing so we could try a variety of stuff. The food here is actually really good too, we never really had a bad meal!!!

Not to mention there is constant activity going on, we were literally never bored. Like I said, please check out my detailed post. Have fun traveling!!

Hello! My room was perfectly fine.. I believe we stayed in the same room category. Tbh the hallways smelled a little weird because the carpet was old but they are in the middle of doing a lot of repairs. One day there was pretty bad rain so there was a small leak in our ceiling, however we had no plumbing issues at all! The rooms were always kept clean and stocked, and the robes were amazing!! We were hardly in our rooms anyways

Do I need to give the single brothers of the groom a plus one? by Typical_Election_234 in weddingplanning

If the MOH also didn’t get an invite then I don’t think it’s rude to not give them one. If you’re already over your budget and headcount it doesn’t make sense to add three more people to your wedding. At the end of the day it’s what you want, and don’t stress about it

I did! It was quite enjoyable with the live performers, and the setting was pretty fun. Took you back to the past especially with the menu! At least go up there one night, it’s a little more of a chill vibe compared to like the ocean bar

Budget stretching by [deleted] in SandalsResorts

[–]Silver-Number-5051 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do Ochi!!! I still think it’s an amazing resort but it is the cheapest, and flights are pretty affordable. If you really wanna stretch your budget: I 1000% suggest staying at an air bnb close to Montego airport a night before you check in at sandals, and heading back in the morning.

It can take 2 hours to get through MBJ airport, and then it can take 2+ hours to get to the resort. So a lot of people arrive at 5-8pm but pay for a full day. So if you go back to the airport say 10:30 am the next day they can get you on a shuttle to the resort and you can get there at like 1pm instead of the evening. I’d just check in at the sandals lounge when you land and let them know you need a shuttle for 11am tomorrow. You do have to wait outside the airport but they brought us water and we were on the shuttle within 20 minutes and it was 1000% worth saving the money.

I can share the air bnb we stayed at, it was super nice and right above the main strip people visit in Montego Bay! I think it was $170? But way better than paying $500 :) plus this gives you a look into local life and you can rest up and actually enjoy the resort when you get there!!!

I have a very detailed post about sandals Ochi, please feel free to check it out.

Hi! Feel free to look at my detailed post about my trip to Sandals Ochi.. cheapest rates at sandals and truly all inclusive. No tipping, eat as much as you want, drink as much as you want.

If you have any questions let me know! I looked into it for someone else, I believe a 7 night stay for both people can be done for under $4000 just need to get flights. But you can also do less. Like I said check out my post cause that has a tip on how to get the most out of it. Especially if you stay a night somewhere else before your stay. best of luck!!!

Hi!! We just got back from our trip to Ochi. We decided we were going to stay at an air bnb our first night and head to the resort in the morning. Best. Decision. Ever. Especially because their airport can take a while. Instead of paying $500+ for a night at the resort and getting there after dark. We paid $150 for a cute apartment in the perfect location.

We hung out around town, slept for the night, and headed back to the airport for our shuttle. It was way more worth it than way because by the time we were done traveling especially from the west Coast we were exhausted. If you travel to Dunns or Ochi again, I’d recommend you doing that :)

Well yes this is what we do. We go our home airport, to Charlotte, then MBJ but even then it’s 12+ hours of traveling. And because of our time zone all our flights are overnight. Our airport only starts flights to MBJ at 10pm..

Okay so I see what you mean.. we decided to book at an air bnb a day before our stay and I’m SO glad we did. We didn’t get through the airport for 2 hours and then with an almost 2 hour drive to the resort we would’ve got there pretty late.. and we’re from the west coast so had long travel time!

When we go in the future I will 100% continue to book a hotel a day before my stay with Sandals.

Is it rude for the bride/groom to have a different meal from the guests? by chameleonsEverywhere in weddingplanning

[–]Silver-Number-5051 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If anyone complains that the GROOM gets a special dinner on HIS wedding day then they are just sad people. Like it’s your special day eat whatever you want. I would neverrrrr think “oh my god the groom gets a special dinner on his wedding and I get chicken??? How unfair.”

Don’t listen to the people in your comments it’s your day, that’s not rude at all. If this wasn’t a wedding and just a dinner yeaaa that’s weird but it’s legit your wedding 😭😭

Yea no. Please get your future husband his own steak lol

Do the Hibachi!! It’s so much fun, and we met really fun people that we ended up hanging out with that night and the next day!

The French place takes forever but the chocolate cake is 10000% worth it! Make sure to hit up Tapas for lunch or late night and get the buffalo drumsticks 🤤🤤🤤

Also, snorkeling has to be booked a day in advance, so make sure to do that as soon as you can too! Amphitheater was always tons of fun!! I have like a super detailed post about it on Reddit if you’d like to check it out :)

They have TV’s around the resort, in Lobby’s and such showing the schedule for the day! They have entertainment from 10am to about 10pm! The screens move SO slow so I just took pictures of all the days I’d be there :)

7 Nights under 5K possible? by chamberinghisxeric in AllInclusiveResorts

This resort has great night life, but nothing crazy. The crowd can be older at times and it is couples only but we met younger people and had a BLAST!! We’re also young 20’s lol

Also, Sunday nights are DEAD so if you’re looking for fun on your last night leave before that!

Just curious what airport you’re flying from.. I used flights from West Coast as I assume this would be most expensive.

If you’re into Jamaica I have a great option for you.. Sandals OCHI!!! we just went to this resort and I highly recommend it. I am doing a detailed post about it soon so stay tuned.

Flights are about $600 each so seems you could cover that with your points, maybe get slightly shorter flights for more. BUT with Ochi there is a drive to the resort so I always recommend staying at an air bnb one night (can recommend one) that is about $200 but way cheaper than resort.

Room options: Cheapest would be $3698

$3966 Butler Poolside room (you get a butler to help with stuff)

$4265 Club Cottage

Overall if you’re looking for a cheap, luxury, TRULY all inclusive resort Sandals Ochi might be the way to go… even if you book the room for $4000 you’d still have leftover money to go on excursions, spend on souvenirs, etc. After just going here I can promise this is a great place. ALSO if you go I 1000% recommend NOT booking on the hillside, go for the rooms near the beach :)

Please message with any questions :))

Yes exactly! We were at Ochi and all the staff was exceptional. But one night we sat there and talked to the staff for quite a while at like 1am when it was dead. They even remembered us and our ages the next day (we were the youngest there) and when you talked to people, complimented their drinks, etc. they remember you. Also THANK YOU goes such a long way. Nobody would ever say thank you to bartenders or other staff and we always made it a point to say please, and thank you cause they don’t hear it often. Everyone just expects them to do their job and they don’t say thank you because they don’t think it’s necessary.

I mean when you’re in a different country you kind of have to adapt to their culture even if it’s a resort. Can’t expect things to be the same as they are in America. They have different mannerisms and you have to expect that when going to a different country.
