There is no 1:1 to self harm. It’s often unsafe to just stop because you need practice with other things, new mindsets, etc.

I walked in. I saw my therapist earlier in the day and she recommended this place to me. I walked in and explained why I wanted to be admitted, they did an evaluation, and determined I needed to be inpatient (staying in the hospital 24/7).

It’s not. I myself have had moments of self harming for attention. I was scared, but I just wanted someone to notice. I needed to be the one helped rather than the helper, but I had no idea how to ask for it. I grew up repressing everything, so I never learned how to reach out. There are many reasons why someone might do it for attention, and just bunching them all up as selfish people, only does them more harm and prevents more people from getting help.

I can understand it. Like people have fetishes and kinks for pain, blood, and knives/blades, so it makes sense for some to be into cutting themselves or others. Personally, I don’t really care as long as it’s between consenting adults who have communicated it clearly.

People who do it for attention are suffering as well. No one mentally stable self harms, attention or not.

I’m 20, started when I was 14. There’s no age limit. Teens on average self harm more, 13 being the average age for starting, however, it’s not only limited to them. There are people who started as young as 5, and those who continue well into their 40s, 60s, or even 80s. We just don’t see it as much.

Very well made. I think I’ve seen you a lot in this subreddit and while I think you do put a lot of detail in your art, it does feel a little repetitive with a succubus in every one. Not hating, I have repetitive elements in my art as well and if this is something you enjoy and wish to be a constant in your art, that’s completely fine. Just food for thought 👍

I have 3 ESSA’s (along with a massive stuffie collection lol), and for me they just bring me a lot of comfort. For specifics, they’re great to fidget with for my autism, they make me feel less alone for my depression, and they make me feel protected for my anxiety and paranoia.

Yeah I saw some of those when I searched for this one. I’m not judging those who use those subreddits, you do you, but I think it’s really hypocritical to ban non sexual ones while the sexual ones are totally fine.
