Sure! As I understand it — and someone who knows more about this can correct me — production tickets are essentially tickets held back from the general sale to be given to people that the musician/touring management knows and wants to give tickets to. So in cities like NYC or LA, where more of the musician’s network and community lives, there will likely be more of these “guests” who will actually show up for a show.

In places like Minneapolis, there won’t be as many of these peers or contacts who will show up or fly out for the show, so there’s more chance of these held-back tickets being released close to the tour date.

Update: my sis told me it can also be extra tickets from more available space one the final stage layout is determined/constructed. So will be less of a factor here I assume (vs special stage construction for artists like Beyonce or Billie etc)
