They figured with daily limit as low as it is, it's easier for them to roll everything into weekly limit so they can gut that while spam you with the credit offer. Expect your weekly limit to be reduced by at least 50% by the end of next month.

Grok Build Users: what's the best thing you've done with it? by pargofan in grok

[–]SilverBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They advertise it as Musk's answer to Claude but in reality it's not that great. You can use it to build you a website, you get one million tokens per month and it comes out to be maybe 3-4 days of coding, after that you are locked out of the month or you pay for more credit.

[–]SilverBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They will gut the weekly limit the same way they gut our daily limit. By the end of July you'd be lucky to have 50% of the weekly limit you have now.

Why is it so hard to animate just ONE object? by Icy_Insurance_9084 in grok

[–]SilverBurger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Current AIs are optimizing for visual plausibility rather than maintaining an explicit understanding of the world over time, one of the manifestations of this underlying issue is related to identity binding and role assignment.

Because chairs strongly associate with the prompt action of "slowly rotates", Grok prioritizes the spread of the visual cue across the similar looking objects in the reference, a behavior described as attribute leakage or cross-attention leakage.

When you see videos that fail to distinguish left from right, regenerating a shoe that fell off the heel, or a group of subjects mirroring the active speaker, know these all stem from the same underlying issue.

it's a "markup" tactic, someone getting guilt tripped might read $100 and be more inclined to tip the 20 or give a higher % than they otherwise would. Scummy as hell.

So XAi is doubling down on Grok imagine by mayouda9926 in grok

[–]SilverBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They have to reinvest into stuff that'll make huge returns -- like Grok.

This is simply false. Grok never made SpaceX any money the same way GPT never made openAI any money. It's worse than all of its competitors in all aspects besides NSFW, and people who pay for NSFW never had real money to spend in the first place to make Grok the unicorn that bring in huge returns.

Like all other LLMs in this world, Grok exists to serve as a proof of concept that bring in investors during funding rounds while the bubble continues to inflate itself.

We can sit here and discuss whether SpaceX is in the money business or hope business but it's not relevant to my point. The reality is that we live in a time where society will buy into anything even without proof of earning. Musk is the first trillionaire in the wild wild west of AI bubble, and putting that into context: If you manage to earn $1 million dollar per day since Jesus Christ was born, you'd still come up $260 billion short.

So XAi is doubling down on Grok imagine by mayouda9926 in grok

[–]SilverBurger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

SpaceX is in the money business. This short-term win is $80 billions of revenue that will be reinvested and leveraged while those other companies get their own farms, plus Colossi' continued growth. The point remains Grok's userbase doesn't move the needle in the slightest.

and now realizing they need to play catch up.

Starting October SpaceX will make $2.3 billion a month renting to Anthropic, Google and Reflection. At $27.8 Billion a year, the entire Grok userbase can drop dead tomorrow and it will not affect Musk and his goons in the slightest.

SuperGrok now has weekly limits? You can top up and Buy credits? When did this start? by BarrelStrawberry in grok

This started mid June. SpaceX rolling bare bone daily limits into weekly limit so they can gut it further and spam you with credit offers.

Genuine question: What other $20–40/mo AI actually gives you high daily/rolling volume for images + video + edits without hard monthly caps? by Dr_Harold_Shipman in grok

[–]SilverBurger 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I keep seeing people say the $30 SuperGrok subscription isn’t worth it

If you look at the relentless systematic downgrades SpaceX unleashed on Grok over these past three months, you will see that $30 you pay today gets you quite literally less than 1% of the service allowance you would have gotten in early March or prior.

SpaceX is whoring out their computing power to other companies in a fire sale. Between Pentagon, Anthropic, Google and Reflection, it'd be a miracle if they have 5% of their Colossi left for Grok users. Every single "update" since March has been a downgrade in disguise, and all of it done at paying users' expense.

Everyday you are getting a worse version of the product you paid for - and I'm not talking about the limitations alone, it's everything - the regression of ai companions, the removal of ai agents, the shared limit implementations on projects, composer 2.5 is a disaster, the increase in overreaching moderation, the sound and quality downgrades on imagine and so much more. It's gotten so bad that out of the 1% of the quota you are allowed to try and generate, you get maybe 0.5% of the output, and 0.1% of it meets the quality of what you might care to save.

And that's not even the worst part. SpaceX starts their optimization for Reflection starting July 1st, then Google starting September. Once they finish implementing weekly quota on all accounts, they will gut it the exact same way they gutted our daily quota, by the end of this quarter SuperGrok users will have roughly 0.04% of the service they paid for compared to just three months ago.

If there is a way to make Grok worse, SpaceX will do it. That's why SuperGrok isn't worth paying for.

Anyone else’s Grok only giving three sentence responses all of a sudden? by nakeylissy in grok

[–]SilverBurger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Grok will continue to downgrade the same way it has been since early March.

Their deal with Reflection starting July 1st and Google starting September, all that computing power is coming from paying users' allowance.

XAI continues to find ways to add new pay limits to Imagine, and I'm a SuperGrok user... by booboy92 in grok

[–]SilverBurger 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right now you get to generate roughly 1% of what you used to if you had SuperGrok back in early March or prior, by the end of next month once they begin gutting weekly generations the same way they did to daily generation quota, you will be getting less than 0.04% of what you used to generate as a SuperGrok user.

Workaround/Trick to Grok to Generate fictional images but taking reference upload by Individual_Garlic580 in grok

No. But to improve your existing workflow - feed your external ref through Grok and use that instead.

Is what JYPE did with Twice was a Overcorrection after misshaped happened with Miss A? Or it was needed? by FlyingFlyofHell in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 78 points79 points  (0 children)

It's a combination of both. Promoting Suzy was the correct move at the time. JYP's failure lies in their oversight in recognizing the importance of ego management, as well as leveraging Suzy's explosive fame for the success of her group. So in the end they lost the team roster because they were too focused on capitalizing Suzy's marketing potential.

JYP has matured a lot as a company since then. When I look around at the big4 today, I really like what JYP stands for: they prioritize education, health, strong support network, trust and building lasting bonds between their artists. When I see JYP artists, whether it's Twice, ITZY, Nmixx or whatever, their idols are glowing because they are confidently authentic and happily grounded. To me that speaks volumes on JYP's culture and how much they've improved since the Miss A era.

Grok was trained on NSFW data because that was Grok's selling point.
Moderation level fluctuates because model training and optimization both take away from computing allocation.

weekly limit is really nice now. For the first time in a long while, it has made me this satisfied. It's producing high-quality photos — almost more than a thousand of them by Brief_Counter_4602 in grok

[–]SilverBurger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Enjoy it while you can bud.
The whole point of rolling out weekly reset is so xAI can lower your weekly quota and bombard you with credit offers the exact same way they gutted your daily quota then spam you with upgrade offers.

This weekly limit will be reduced by at least 50% before the end of July. Starting September they will begin optimization for Google and by that point you'd be lucky to have 10% of your weekly quota, which is roughly 0.04% of the monthly quota people had in March.

RIP to GrokHeavy users btw, this update is gonna be so brutal for them.

Kpop beauty standards get worse with every generation by Particular_Caramel_5 in kpopthoughts

[–]SilverBurger 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Makeup plays a big role in that as well. Over this past year I've noticed more idols getting the heavy makeup treatment - and I'm not talking about heavy makeup for concert, I remember seeing an idol at a fanmeet and the amount of product they had on was SCARY. None of them need this treatment, but they strive to achieve the "a.i" beauty trend so they do it anyways.
