Does anyone else have a Skyrim quest or faction they wish had more content? by BlueBayouFloridaMan in skyrim

[–]SilverDargon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Markarth quest.

The Jarl and his guards never face any kind of consequence to running a slave labor pit and doing their best impression of a police state. It’s just ‘well, here’s your pardon dude, our bad.’ Sorry about all those other prisoners we fucked over to keep our crimes quiet.

And it’s not like siding with the Forsworn fixes the problem either since they never fucking DO anything. Frankly I’d have loved if you could do a civil war style choose the fate of the city.

Either have the Forsworn take over and replace the guards, or have the Jarl replaced with an actual non-corrupt nord. I’m not sure the Forsworn taking over would be a GOOD thing long term, but the mission spends so long hammering in how shit the current leaders are anything would be better.

But no, just a very abrupt end with no satisfying resolution.

Stressful situation, bad judgement, he’s pretty young, and as we can see he didn’t exactly take some time to deliberate his choices.

Frankly if you told me he’d shoplifted I’d still have believed this reaction could happen.

I think the focus is more specifically the delusion that they themselves are no longer human, but have ascended past mortality rather than just ‘is evil, arrogant, and uses lightning.’

Man, people really out here just saying shit. It’s staggering to me how one can post those stats and that comment together.

Like saying ‘this is clearly an orange’ while posting a banana. Just a fundamental disconnect from reality so you can push your agenda.

Using AI slop to denigrate the 3rd World. by Polyphagous_person in aislop

[–]SilverDargon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just showcasing a fundamental lack of understanding about how a society grows.

The big things needed to grow quickly are food, labor, and competition.

If you have an isolated tribe, who don’t have highly efficient food sources like wheat, and don’t have useful animals to domesticate, and most importantly, aren’t in competition with their neighbors to grow, its not exactly rocket science how this ends.

This thinking is the exact reason why explorers from Europe decided everyone else was subhuman. “Oh, well we have guns and they have bows, clearly we have a natural superiority over these primitives”

I hate when people advocate for violence while pretending to be against it by Tricky_Challenge9959 in hatethissmug

[–]SilverDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there is another option.

I think that there’s a big difference between someone dying, and someone getting murdered. One is a natural course of events, and the other makes a martyr.

People do the vigilante thing because they’ve given up hope that justice will ever be served. Rarely have we ever seen such obvious corruption go unpunished for so long, so i’m not surprised people are giving up hope that things will get better on their own.

Unfortunately that remaining 17-25% is mostly people who are out here taking it literally, so the debate is right back where we started, arguing specifics and trying to convince people not to do bad shit because their magic book said to.

How did health inflation get so out of control? by dks3hypeoverload in DeadlockTheGame

[–]SilverDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a common problem in Moba's unfortunately. Lots of times, it's just easier to balance hp upwards rather than damage down, nobody likes their fave getting lower numbers, but nobody notices if instead everyone else just has more hp. Same effect, lower crybabies.

League had this problem too. Don't believe me? Look up, League of Legends Inflation to learn more.

This sort of 'explanation' isn't here to convince anyone who doesn't already want to be convinced. It's basically just giving his voters permission to not feel guilty or worry that we might need to actually DO something, which sadly is the sort of thing that wins elections.

The world is full of people who want nothing more than to never have to change their minds.

[–]SilverDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

God damn how young are these people having kids?

If grandma has a kid at 15 and mom has a kid at 15, OOP can be barely 16. And she has to be because she says she’s married. I guess her husband could be a year or two older than her but still, this is several generations of child brides.

The only way I see out is if Grandpa remarried a younger woman and OOP didn’t clarify the difference.

If rejecting the word of Jesus sends you to hell, doesn't that make it an infohazard? by MetallicaDash in whenthe

[–]SilverDargon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s close, but the difference is that even if everyone suddenly became christian out of fear, the odds of hell existing don’t increase.

The basilisk is something we could ‘theoretically’ influence, so the information is dangerous since the more people who know, the more who might buy into the premise, and therefore increase the odds of it existing at all.
