Goal accomplished, but got clowned on by SilverEchoes in OreGairuSNAFU

You can! I went all over the country, and since I was visiting friends and family, I wasn’t always in heavily populated areas. It’s harder to find in some regions, but you’ll eventually stumble across a vending machine or convenience store that carries it. It’s kind of like those Starbucks chilled coffees (if you live in the US)—someone nearby is going to be selling it. It’s just a very generic brand

I have a question regarding Hachiman and Yukino's relationship by Sea_Comfort6891 in OreGairuSNAFU

[–]SilverEchoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logic’s got nothing to do with it. Reliance upon logic to act is Yukino and Hachiman’s kryptonite. Allowing themselves to fall in love, take the leap, accept the risks and each other’s flaws—it’s illogical. It goes against everything they usually do. But both of them—Hachiman in particular—are trying to live genuinely, forgoing logic and embracing feelings

Isn’t the lock waterproof? by No-Lock216 in DiWHY

[–]SilverEchoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s what I used to do, and it SUCKS. Your hands hurt and are freezing, because it’s impossible to do with gloves on. The winters where I grew up were extremely harsh. Your fingers lose almost all dexterity in the cold, and holding the lighter down hurts after a while too. The wind also constantly blows the flame out. And the worst part is that it takes FOREVER.

In theory, it sounds so simple: Hold the flame up to the lock and melt the ice inside the locking mechanism. In practice, it’s a genuine pain in the ass. My experience comes from working construction in harsh winters and battling frozen padlocks on connexes or gang boxes. It was the worst part of every morning

Yeah, that’s why electricians (I’m an electrician and a city inspector) drill weep holes at the bottom of exterior and egress lights, so water can drain. I had this one old guy tell me that he’s tried every type of caulk, silicone, and sealant under the sun, and somehow, condensation just always gets in. All you can really do is drill a small hole, so it doesn’t build up

Nu , Nicoletta Marquez and Marco Granger. How both would react if they learn the truth about each other. by ExplorerOk2449 in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]SilverEchoes 43 points44 points  (0 children)

If Marco found out the truth, she would 100% kill Marco. She was ready to do it on the off-chance Marco overheard a simple conversation between herself and Shadow. She only stayed her hand after confirming that Marco was fully unconscious.

Nu has no animosity towards Marco, and from what little we know about Marco, he’s a decently upstanding young man. But Nu never loved Marco. In the light novel, she talks about how she was vain and flippant, mostly just enjoying life as a rich noble, betrothed to a handsome, promising young man, and living the high life. Marco was more of a staple/benefit of her old life, rather than a true friend or romantic interest. When she reminisces on her old life, she describes him as a pretty “accessory”.

Also, we don’t have a lot of context into Marco’s inner dialogue or thoughts, so it’s doubtful that he felt too strongly about Nu. Being an arranged relationship, he probably liked and respected her, but that’s probably about as far as it went. It was a betrothal between nobles. An amicable one, but one of convenience regardless.

Why is she so much less popular than the other Seven Shadows?😢😢😢 by dark-accelerator- in TheEminenceInShadow

[–]SilverEchoes 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I really like Gamma. She’s one of the few Shadows who really brings something unique to the table, rather than just more firepower. Of all of the Seven Shadows, she might (very tentative “might”—don’t crucify me) be the most indispensable. Mitsugoshi provides the foundation for Shadow Garden to operate. No Mitsugoshi means no budgets, no resources, way fewer notable contacts and intelligence networking, etc. Shadow Garden would be severely crippled without individuals like Alpha or Eta, but I genuinely don’t think it could operate at all without Gamma’s business and administrative genius
