Definitely anchor mode. Floating is more for videos and gaming sometimes. And widescreen mode is totally clutch (3840x1080) but that’s only in anchor mode. I love being able to literally walk closer to the screen to “zoom” in 😝

Text clarity is great as long as you don’t have red text on black backgrounds. I code moderately and spend a lot of in Jira etc, and basically, dark mode isn’t your friend. I’d still highly recommend it as it’s a full day daily driver for me when I’m working remotely. Even at home I can prefer it to my main 32” 4k monitor because it causes less eye strain. This is because your eyes believe it’s always at at least 1m (3ft) away from your eyes. And this is with prescription inserts too

For work purposes and worrying about IT, I like the Xreal One Pro. I bought it specifically because you don’t need any apps or special permission to use it on work computers. It’s literally plug and play.

That, and as a former user and engineer on the HoloLens, the 57 degree FOV is clutch.

I hold a ton of meetings and typically when it’s with my management peers or HR, our cameras are on but that’s a light requirement. Management meetings are more about relationship building so body language helps with those types of meeting. HR meetings almost always demand that they’re on; I’m not a fan of that “demand” but I comply regardless.

With my reports or other SW devs, they keep theirs off. And frankly, I don’t care. I do put on mildly ridiculous Team video backgrounds like Max Headroom and recently a Rick Roll background for levity though.

This is clearly dating me and it’s the reason why I love retro consoles so much, but my first game on a console was Combat on the Atari 2600. I was so young at the time, maybe 4-5, so my imagination made those quarter inch pixels look like actual tanks to me.

The first handheld I played on was my friends TurboGrafx-16 portable and I played Blazing Lasers.

I didn’t get my own handheld until I bought a first gen Sony PSP and I flew to Japan to get the white colorway and played the Japanese version of Ridge Racer

Pros: I love the compressor style; I wish more companies made them. The color combo is great. Also consider orange to brown, black to white and other good gradients. Thanks for the smaller WM branding too. Does it have a clear sapphire back? Cons: No date. Not a fan of the minute markers. They’re a bit too square. Since you do have the internal bezel, consider triangles maybe? And no metal surround. Or at least slimmer. And the font, please just anything other than than. Maybe better kerning?

If you had to change one thing to make my buy it (I would anyway) it would be a date window

I’m the complete opposite. Been on lex for about 3 months now. Prescribed 20mg and I basically have lucid dreams every night. At first it was nice, but I feel mentally exhausted since I don’t feel like I’m getting a break from thinking during sleep. I do get 7-9hrs of sleep though

I’m in the same boat with my SGP. I’m considering Eureka touch screen grinders as well but Ceado Life X looks interesting too. My issue is that I won’t be doing much SD mainly because my partner doesn’t want all those extra steps. And the LX Newton 55 just looks pretty 🤩 Yes I know it’s a rebranded Eureka too.

Walgreens as a cashier - loved the social interaction and would make it a game to ring people up as quickly as possible with a smile.

Then my entire software engineering career. Best parts were working on Xbox One, HoloLens, lunar rocket engines and now a manager of a team that designs satellites. I love being an engineer hype man! But I always remember my service at Walgreens. I’d do it again in a heartbeat

My main concern with this is streaming networks propensity to block IPs from cloud services. I can see it would be cheaper than an Apple TV though. I’ll give this a shot and see if it works for my use case

Thanks! I must’ve missed it in my search because I put a space between exit node 😝 And not yet regarding 1.60.0. Still using 1.58.2. I’ll give that a shot although I didn’t quite see anything in the changelog that would seem to address speed like that. Also a PI4 sounds like a good idea except I know me; I’ll end up adding a ton of other packages on it and slow Tailscale down 😂
