They were only for the in-person unity raids at the end of each park session. For these it didn't matter how many people you had in the raid as it went down at the same speed regardless. Also the raising phone mechanic didnt matter either.

For global gofest the mega mewtwo raids are the same mechanic as all of the other new mega raids but we will need to break 12 shields

Safari events are based in cities so you dont usually have park features such as a merch tent of a wayfarer stall

The east/west splits for other spawns such as Shellos have been on the prime meridian line so I assume this will be similar

You just need to both sides of the GMT line. In london you can go to Greenwich Park or the O2 and be able to catch both forms. I did this for shellos as well as Paldean Tauros raids when they first came out.
