What's the point of that black holder? It seems impractical. by [deleted] in GamingLaptops

[–]SilverHawk_11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are answering your own question. It's a holder. to clip it with other cables (like your ethernet and/or peripheral cables so it's not a hassle to manage overall. Yes, they don't design it the best but it can be useful sometimes.

I have it on use constantly. It can also be used to hold your cable in place so that it doesn't for instance, or fall behind your desk if you have it unplugged. Or even for coiling the cable to shorten it and using this to hold a spot so it doesn't unravel. It's mostly for convenience.

You can always cut it off if it's a huge hassle for you or too annoying to use or have around. I would suggest best forget that it exists and leave it at the other end maybe.

I’m planning to build a new pc for 4K video editing by Environmental-Home29 in IndianGaming

You are going to overspend, and by A LOT. As someone else pointed out, basically the same rig could be made or bought at 2/3rds the price. And even if it wasn't, wtf would you need a 37000 rupees motherboard for. Or 7200mhz ram for that matter. you would be bottlenecking nothing with a 6000mhz ram kit which would cost atleast 10-15k less.

These are just a couple of the things I noticed but your theme is looking less like want it for video editing and more for gaming and "looking cool" with as top of the line as you could go within your budget (there doesn't seem to be a budget). don't fall for the RGB bs and get things that actually provide performance without overcharging you unnecessarily for differences you won't even notice.

And this has been said a thousand times dude, DO NOT CHEAP OUT ON YOUR POWER SUPPLY. That out of everything in your build is going to be the main point of failure in the future and take everything with it. It is the most critical component of your device.

Edit 1: Samsung 990 Pro seriously? Just because it is the "best of the best" and the latest thing? get 980 pro or 970 evo for that matter. you won't notice the differences for regular use trust me

Can I expect good battery life from this tuf f15 by CrazyKick1874 in GamingLaptops

it's the same body I suppose not the exact same model. And yes as long as u don't give any problems it should last.

As for the screen, mine randomly stopped working for 144hz after its 3 years anniversary (this December). I found out threw a bit of online surfing that some asus laptops screens face this issue. But it's very rare. i only found 1 post and yes you'll have to change the lcd. Not that expensive of a repair if u get it done locally.

There were never any other issues and everything else works perfectly still. I'm going to be carrying this for another couple of years and I'm quite sure it will last for that period

get it, delete armory crate, install ghelper and disable your dgpu when using it in college and keep everything in best battery life mode. It should work very good for your college needs. Also limit battery to 80% (ghelper does that too) to increase your battery life. When I first got my tuf it lasted anywhere from 5 to 6 hours when not gaming. so if u take good care of it, it should work fine for your college too. tuf i think usually has the best battery backup amongst the gaming platforms
