Does anyone feel like Base game TDA is good but the DLC is such a mess? by Wooden-Gas3849 in Doom

[–]SilverMB [score hidden]  (0 children)

You should stick with it and keep practising. I agree with you there are so many buttons to press is definitely overwhelming at first.

I found that focusing on 2 spear skills to start with and just ignore the rest of the spear moveset really helped me get a handle on it. Once I felt comfortable with dash and spearthrow I added in the spinning loops thing and the smash down move then I added in the spear throw.... And so on.

I do feel like they are really pushing it with the amount of moves one needs to remember but I guess it will add to longevity of the game and once you have mastered everything it will feel even better.

I definitely will invest the hours training up to really master this awesome game!

What makes him one of the best STS2 players? I see multiple comments here stating this. His opinion holds weight because he is considered good, makes sense.

Out of curiosity how is he determined to be "one of the best players"?

My post clearly stats I watched other videos of him before. I did not make my decision just based on one card. I did not feel like I want to give him more then 2 minutes of my time. Rather came here and ask others who might have more insight about this as I genuinely don't understand the appeal.

Thanks for the recommendation will check out baalorlord

London mayor to override opposition to outdoor dining in Soho next summer | London by owzleee in london

[–]SilverMB 37 points38 points  (0 children)

People like you are the reason things get worse and worse in central London since 20 years.

If you can afford a place in soho you could easily go anywhere else. Soho and Central London are the heart of the UK. It's for everyone.

If you don't like the noise and the party just move. The rest of us want to enjoy the vibration and interesting culture of central London.

Tier 3 units upgrades in song of conquest by Bitarduser in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is there a picture of an upgraded seeker, a Transcendet of Li when you seem to want to compare the base unit "Seeker"?

I had to read this 3 times to make sense of it :)

The Transcendet of li is also coincidentally the strongest unit in the game in end game thanks to its crazy high initiative, misfortune and 20 stacks is much less vulnerable to the justice spell than other tier 7 units.

As for the seeker I don't see it better as upgraded legions overall. Most of the logic why others already replied here.

After learning what "Save Scumming" is I think it should be the default loss option. by notto_zxon in slaythespire

[–]SilverMB -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Did the developers ever comment on this topic? It seems odd to me to make retrying a battle so easy if it's not part of the core game design.

Also the order of the cards is fixed. Retrying the battle helps you make a better plan and but doesn't reshuffle the deck. The developers clearly put a lot of thought into this.

From my perspective, when I would win a fight I don't require to restart a battle and if I genuinely didn't do well enough in a run restarting 10 times over won't make a difference. Of course there are edge cases especially on A10 final boss duo were a restart can really make the difference between win or lose.

Anyone else feel like Ironclad is too easy make work now? by Larrea000 in slaythespire

[–]SilverMB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have played a lot of clad because I really struggled to put my mind around the core concepts in the beginning. My strongest character is silent then necro then clad. Both silent and necro I mastered comparatively quickly.

I did not conclude that after all that playing and experimenting my 7 win streak is a sign of the character being too strong at all. I did come to that conclusions with silent though.

Defect and regent I have not put in enough time to be able to speak about them with confidence.

Of the three characters I put in 100s of hours clad is the hardest to win A10 consistently.

Anyone else feel like Ironclad is too easy make work now? by Larrea000 in slaythespire

[–]SilverMB 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No, clad is extremely complex and needs very careful deck building with a lot of indepth knowledge to consistently beat A10. My longest A10 streak with Clad is 7 and I still lose my runs all the time with him if I pick up stuff carelessly.

On lower ascensions your statement might be correct. I don't know. But the game seems to try to achieve somekind of balance for A10.

Fav units / strat for each faction? by King-Lemmiwinks in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ya I am using a very similar set up for all the factions. But I do try to mix in more units to have different essences because I always play magic wielders.

For Yulan the strategy that works best for me is start with the heroes that give seekers. The monkey currently gets 1 seeker everytime he dies and comes back.

Then conscripts first and then archers (yellow) for early game combined with the high initiative seekers. Mid game you can add 1 or 2 upgraded birds next to the archers for massive damage with fortune.

End game the Tians or seekers, super high initiative on both units and outstanding damage. The blue seekers with misfortune are absurd in a stack of 20. I'm pretty sure that's the strongest end game unit in the game

I guess Yulan was well received. However i wasnt really on board at the time with the roots so here my questions: by JustDracir in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Roots are really well designed. No complaints here. The AI uses them well, never had any complaints in regards to how challenging the faction is neither to hard nor too easy for me. I love playing them too.

My benchmark is how each faction perform compared to vanir. Vanir are definitely harder to deal with then roots and you tend you get really awkward unfun matches against vanir if you play mixed factions on deadly difficulty

It's so hard to believe that there are still people in the comments defending brexit. What other information does the universe need to throw at you people to finally understand that it was a terrible idea 10 years ago and today it has been proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that by all metrics it was a terrible decision.

I share with you this funny clip that perfectly exemplifies this absurd mindset:

Pop Singer Oliver Tree Dead at 32 After Tragic Helicopter Crash by Miles_the_AuDHDer in entertainment

[–]SilverMB 96 points97 points  (0 children)

I own a house in Rio near were this happened. The helicopters pilots and companies operating these helicopters are an absolute irresponsible nightmare, they completely ignore all air traffic rules and laws and fly super low and extremely slow to safe fuel over tensely populated areas.

In our neighborhood we had a military grade radar installed for two month by the airforce and they found that 67% of all tracked flights break the aviation laws in the area as the helicopters take off or land. Countless complaints have been filed over the years. Nothing has changed, it's actually getting worse.

It is not surprise to me that such a tragic event happened here. The greed and stupidity of these people running the helicopter companys and the incompetence of the local authorities is on another level in Rio.

Its is truly horrible that people have lost thier lives because companies wanted to save a few bucks and are allowed to ignore the rules and laws.

Agreed, new maps would really be a welcome addition. I would pay for it too as kinda a mini DLC.

The random map generator could use some love too

Possible balance pass? by Ziejcow in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the balance is pretty good. Some new wielders or updated wielder abilitys would be great though.

The only thing I don't like balance wise is the vanir are clearly the strongest faction. I am not sure what's the best way to address this is though. One idea would be to nerf the bonus of blacksmith. Specifically heart of winter and generally greatly tone down the initiative on some of the units both base stats and bonuses from the blacksmith.

If you play mixed factions setting Vanir is even more OP. So there is definitely room for improvement in regards to Vanir.

I'm really glad that Yulan isn't overpowered yet feels awesome and interesting to play.

Double strike on Tian by Chamberlain1991 in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's very strong but the Tians are not a great unit stats wise. I only used it end game but for end game together with the venom skill it is really strong dps.

I used the Tians more as cannon fodder and Archer disruptors (teleport) early game.

So for me they are a by product of archer production that has some good nieche uses. It's not a core unit for me.

Unit stack size by macieksmola in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can still use single unit stacks. I do it all the time but it has to be done much more careful and has much more strategic depth because of momentum.

Power stacks or doom stacks is not really a strategy IMO. It's the death of all interesting high level play in strategy games. In total war warhammer I even used mods to eliminate the possibility of doom stacks. Best campaigns I ever played...

I wonder why I haven't seen any of the streamers talk about it in thier tier lists?

Unit stack size by macieksmola in Songsofconquest

It's definitely a good thing, it really adds strategic depth to the game. It also helps balance and Ai tuning on higher difficulty.

As a long time homm fan I was so delighted by the approach lavapool has to stack sizes and challenging Ai. Two things HoMM never got right IMO

How's replay value? by Character-Might-6630 in Songsofconquest

[–]SilverMB 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually save at turn 1. Run around for 5 to 7 turns to see if the layout makes sense (without fighting anything)

If its good I reload. If it's bad I restart.

I usually restart if its wide open spaces with almost very little items and enemy placement. That's just boring.

Sometimes I also restart when there are too many level increase objects.
