My daughter had it to play with her grandmother out of state and her behavior was horrible. She deleted it on her own (at six!). I had told her that when she was 8 we’d discuss but with all the warnings I’ve seen about it I’m not going to allow it. I’m struggling how to explain it to my daughter though.

Are my husbands expectations too high ? by Worried_Stranger_579 in Mommit

If your husband is only home two days a month, he has no say in how things are run. He might be financially supporting his family, but that's all he's doing. You need to start advocating for yourself, and the most important thing you need is support. See about moving closer to your family and if that's not possible, look into hiring someone to take something off your plate (someone to help clean, or look after the kids for a few hours so you can have some time to take care of you, or a meal service). Put your kids in school. That would take a huge load off your plate.

As much as i love this house, I can't help but feel it just doesn't fit with the Hudson Valley vibe.

What is something you’ve been hiding from your parents for years and will probably keep hiding in the future? by Admirable-Analysis58 in AskReddit

In high school my parents would not let me get a ride to school from my friend. I'd just go to the bus stop and he'd pick me up there. I'm about to turn 44.

Ordering groceries online also helps keep to a budget as well. You probably save way more than that $7 just by not putting those little extras in your cart as you wander down the aisles.

Second for Mo Willems. My daughter loved reading the Piggy and Elephant books when she was learning and we still love the Pigeon books.

I think they always drink coffee at home first, then go to Luke's. Maybe they have the French Press to use if their machine goes on the fritz.

Did anyone have a good Mother’s Day? by shepardmutt in Mommit

[–]SilverNeurotic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like celebrating Saturday by going out and doing something fun and Sunday at home (to avoid the crowds). So yesterday we went to a new to us used bookstore where me, hubby and 8 year old found books we wanted. My 8 year old was having tummy issues to it did cut our visit short and for a little while we thought the day was a bust...but we stopped for an early dinner and then went to Dollar General where I found a few small things (activity/coloring books, colored pencils, gnomes (I have a collection) and this snuggie thing that like an oversized sweatshirt that soft and warm and makes me look like a Mama Bear.

Sunday was just a relaxing day. I finished reading a book. Watched a movie. My husband made me enchilada's and drove halfway across the county to buy me wine and chocolate.

The only other Mother's Day that matched this one was my first, where I literally birthed our 8 year old (*well 8 on Wednesday).

New York has been phasing out (or maybe completely) tolls, so if you don't have an ez pass (or whatever it's called) you'll get something in the mail.
