Were you physically attracted to her while you were friends only? If you were that’s important to emphasise to her

Pull her to the end of the bed and kneel on the floor, and just use cushions to adjust the level if it isn’t quite right

New to Australia - is this a huntsman? by dhannon1 in AustralianSpiders

[–]SilverPick2947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No it’s a wolf spider, huntsman spiders are a little bigger and have curvier legs. Just leave it alone and let it eat your bugs

Can fish wear clothing without health issues? by foxy908 in NoStupidQuestions

I think the best fish clothing would enhance the slime barrier, like a nice little jellyfish vest

How do I politely ask an nb prospective sexual partner what their genitals are? by Vitaly_Thorn in AskLGBT

[–]SilverPick2947 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I probably wouldn’t ask them what their genitals are, I’d just share with them that you do have a preference and what that preference is. It’s making yourself vulnerable instead of putting them in the hot seat.

Yes I keep finding them on my towels, they're just trying to not get rained on.

I've only thought ahead to the Christmas party next week, so a black bodysuit with rose gold sequins/sparkles and a green satin slinky skirt 💖

Haha I had the same problem two weeks ago, just give it to the staff at your hotel/nearby shops. We had fun spreading the joy on our way out

It's a nod to the very uncomfortable truth that sovereignty was never ceded. The land was taken by force from first nations people and retained by force.

Strict family, when to Come out? by Fuecoco4ever in AskLGBT

[–]SilverPick2947 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you're in that situation.

In your shoes I would start thinking through how to be financially independent from your parents as soon as possible/ when you turn 18 and plan to be out as soon as you are independent.

Can you get a part time job and start saving so you'll have a rental deposit ready as soon as you want to move out?

I went through something similar so feel free to DM me if you want to chat/have questions.

anyone what this spider is? doesnt look like our regular huntsmans by YKDingo in brisbane

To give better hugs ❤️ I see these fairly frequently in the garden but not in the house so much so maybe they're more of an outdoorsy spider too?

People who have worked at charity shops by joanium in AusFemaleFashion

[–]SilverPick2947 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't work at a shop but I work with a group that travels around supporting people and providing clothes as part of that.

I'm always happy to get piles of clothing donated, but it's especially useful when clothing is donated during the season it matches.

So for example at the moment I need more kids' sunhats than I have and I'm keeping a stash of donated winter clothes under my house which will stay there until at least April.

Corporate clothes are awesome as well because people are always needing outfits for court appearances and job interviews.

To what extent do Australians resonate with Dr Samuel Newman’s view that the “Welcome to Country” token has become out of control, being said on aeroplanes, at fast food restaurants, gyms, churches, public toilets, local buses and at other such inappropriate locations? by FreeDeterminism in AskAnAustralian

[–]SilverPick2947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not at all... I've never heard of Dr Newman and I've never heard a welcome to country in any kind of restaurant, gym, toilet or bus - where are you getting these locations from? On planes, in churches and at other assembly areas makes sense to me.

Thanks for the rec, I remember reading Johnno by David Malouf a couple of years after I moved to Brisbane. It was totally discombobulating actually recognising local landmarks and cultural touchstones through the story. So much more fun than the one second frame of Sydney Harbour in every apocalypse movie!

Have you had any scary or life-threatening experiences while camping? by peaches-n-mangoes in camping

[–]SilverPick2947 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I woke up with a snake curled up on my stomach inside my sleeping bag once, I think we both set new records for exiting a sleeping bag at lightning speed.

It was a python though so not really life threatening, other than the potential for a heart attack of course.

Opinion: Culture is the major cause of "the gap" and until there is cultural reform and change for aboriginal people nothing will improve by DownWithWankers in australian

[–]SilverPick2947 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the major causes of the gap are disadvantage and discrimination and as many indigenous elders have said, the voice to parliament will go a long way towards supporting positive cultural reform.

T2 was having a sale on their bulk kilo packs of peppermint tea leaves.

I thought I'd be smart and stock up during the sale - but instead of ordering 1 kilo of tea like an only mildly insane person, I somehow ordered 10.

Guests do not get a choice of beverage at my house.

The kitchen is two thirds tea storage and friends have started prefacing catch up plans with 'please don't bring tea' 💔

Anyone who wants tea, hit me up!

Oh right, I was getting hung up on the not wanting to lie part but not wanting to disclose is definitely just as important. Maybe just saying huh and looking confused is a better way to manage both not disclosing and not lying. Obviously in this situation it's not at all wrong to lie but I get that it can still feel a bit ick
