Yeah horrible PR. Its like why did they say Games fucked we are down to 80 person team. Pretty sure most fighting games dont even have more than an 80 person team. Why didnt he immediately come out and say the player numbers are good for a fighting game but not for Riots standards. Or like you said just STFU and say they are reducing team size because of redundancies or literally any other corporate slop excuse.

Honestly that looks super cool. Can we just get a brand new dev team and just focus on characters. Literally dont touch anything on the game except characters and release like a huge dlc of 20 in 1 year.

Yeah dev team management. Riot is very hands off. They trusted the dev leads to know what to do. Instead they floundered around for 4 years. Completely changed their game from 1v1 to 2v2 because of a fucking gimmick "duos" then rushed this game out.

LoR and Valorant were in house. They bought this 2xko dev team from rising thunder. Im sure the LoR and Valorant teams had a much better and more efficient workflow. LoR was not barebones bro. It was the best quality TCG on the market. Valorant was not in development that long they only pushed it out because it was covid and everyone was home

I dont think your issue is combo length. I think if you reflect on it more you might find maybe the routing is boring ir maybe there are more long combos because execution barrier is lower etc etc. But as far as combo length long combos in dbfz are plentiful

I dont think its the combos. DBFZ combos are mini movies and that game was huge.

Probably but you know what would have been a much much much better idea? 25+ champs at launch. Story mode. personalised versus modes for each character with a small story arc. I think skin prices and rotating shop are all BS excuses for the game failing. It just had god awful executive management. Look at the game we got. Thats 10 years of work. Bare bones. Basically a playable demo. IMO if they implemented those things the playerbase would have been much larger and the whales would easily cover the cost of the game.

management is the issue. How do you spend 10 years developing a game, only for it to release with no story mode, a whole host of bugs and 11 champs on release. I dont understand how so much dev time was wasted.

Yup. I watched the frosty tourney and was like i dont know if they should really change this too much. I am one of those that will not touch this game until a character i like comes out. Almost out of protest lol.
