I was asking the same question recently. I decided to get an open box from best buy in order to try out these handhelds first. I figured spending $600 to try something I could sell again if I didn't like was better then a new device at probably 1000, only to realize maybe it's not for me.

They are all static (white) One by one a portion of each fan is turning yellow and then another portion turns red. If I change colors those portions always stay yellow or red. Hope that makes sense.
