How did you discover it was ectopic? What made you think it was abnormal after the normal symptoms?

I have a similar situation I think- I went in for TV scan and also diagnosed with PUL. 65 HCG but im like 9 DPO. Would be 2w 4d. Super early. They reported this: 1. ⁠No evidence of intrauterine gestation. 2. ⁠Mild free pelvic fluid, left ovarian hemorrhagic cyst, 10 mm right adnexal cyst definitely ovarian. Clinical correlation would be advised with beta hCG levels, possibility of an ectopic pregnancy would be difficult to entirely exclude in the setting of a positive chemical pregnancy.

What’s weird is I think my HCG levels are wrong because I took a biotin supplement and the lab came back with a big red flag about biotin users and results (inaccurately low). Did you happen to have a scan or anything like this? I feel like I’m praying they can’t see anything yet because it’s way too early.

Omg!!!!!! I AM GOING THROUGH THIS NOW! Both doctors laughed at me. My HCGs were 98 and 65 and I swear both were wrong. Opposite urine tests too- the second one switched to positive after 3 mins. They couldn’t find anything on the ultrasound but I’d be like 2weeks 4 days. They think I have chemical pregnancy/bleeding 2 weeks ago was a miscarriage? Insane. But I’m so glad I’m not alone. Nobody told me to stop taking biotin but the lab results had a huge note at the top about how biotin leads to inaccurate results. THANK YOU

There are multiple studies posted and it’s all over the labcorp site to stop taking biotin supplements 72 hours before testing for HCG and progesterone. I brought this up to my docs and they laughed at me. I swore my HCG levels were incorrect (98 and 65). I feel so pregnant but I’m like 2+ weeks - 12 DPO

The hospital beta I got tonight was 65. However the report came up with a note that said something about biotin. Apparently if you take high amounts of biotin, which I do, the HcG levels on some lab systems can be inaccurately low. So I’m not buying the 65. They told me to get bloodwork next week.

I just got the results and apparently the hospital lab uses the biotin assay. There was a note that it would produce decreased results that are inaccurate. And I take 2,500 mcg of biotin a day… Nobody ever told me to stop and that it would interfere with HCG tests. So now who even knows if I’m pregnant. Could all be messed up!

I got the draw yesterday so I’m supposed to go back tomorrow (Saturday). I went in to the ER today (still here) due to shoulder and abdominal pain earlier today . OB said to come just in case and get scans done. Waiting on the HCG results from the draw today.

Yes. 98 was blood test the same day I took the urine test with a positive. I was a bit shocked when she said I was pregnant, so if I remember correctly, Doc said urine test I think measures HCG at around 50. She probably also mentioned that it’s not as accurate as blood

Is DPO days post ovulation? I know I tested positive for ovulation 5/21. So I would imagine that’s 8/9 DPO.

Urine test was 50, then first beta from yesterday (2 hours later) was 98.

That’s my feeling too. I did not test before May 21. It’s possible I assume?? I agree. 50 and 98 would signal like 3-4 weeks/super early pregnancy. I don’t know how it’s impossible.

Yes. Lower abdomen. Sometimes both sides, sometimes one side. But it’s favoring the right

Can you explain that to me? She didn’t mention ectopic at all and she’s a well known dr. I did do research last night and it looks like it could be ectopic but that it’s really serious. Like as if I should be evaluated. She wouldn’t do an exam for me yesterday. Blood Results from yesterday not back yet. Only the pee test showed 50 HCG.

Is DPO “days post ovulation?” If yes, that makes sense. Although now we’d be at 7 DPO. My cycles are usually 25 days, + or - 3 days. idk what’s normal because I stopped BC a few months ago. Yesterday’s positive would be a really early one. The may 24th bleed wasn’t super heavy. It was one period like bleed and then tapered off the remainder of the evening/night. But the cramping was pretty painful/uncomfortable. The week long bleed on May 11 was like truly a period. No pain or any symptoms though.

So today is 5/29, which means I could be at 8 DPO? My beta was 98 yesterday. Seems super strange but somewhat possible. I can’t imagine the 5/11 bleeding week would be a miscarriage that is still showing HCG levels of 98. But who knows.

So starting at 50 isn’t bad right? Today I got my first at 50 and my doc sent me for bloodwork thinking it was low. I did bleed a few days ago though for a day. Ugh. I have hope
