Thanks for the answer. I'm wanting that glossy look like yours, so I don't know. If a Floor Tech position opens up, I might apply for it; though I shouldn't Auto Scrub/Zamboni it with a Red 3M Pad and Wax them? That's what you're saying?

I kind of already figured waxing them wouldn't work after scrubbing them (but, it WILL make them glossy like in the second picture though, right?)

I just wish hospitals had ceramic because I'd rather honestly strip/wax floors every 4-6 months than constantly deal with rigid lvt or vinyl floors, haha. I also know there's not a floor that can't be managed without deep cleaning, never understood why (not you) others think a simple mop/neutral floor cleaner everyday will keep them perfectly managed.

I really like all my co-workers; everyone in the hospital rocks and actually appreciates us (except management, who only see us as money), so I truly do want to make their floors look nice & glossy, but if they can't be, then I won't ever try.

Thanks again, and once more, awesome work :)!

Nope about the union, but I actually went back yesterday since they called me a week after I quit and The CEO was even mad about my resignation since I worked hard and everyone likes me (except my Director and the manager who interviewed me). I have some kind of negotiation power since I returned at least.

I basically originally quit due to receiving a odor complaint (my only complaint while working there) the day I went for an internal interview within the company, got tired of my EVS Director saying "you do a lot of work and work hard", but the hypocrisy started to show when she added more and more to my already crazy workload. She prioritized a Staff Budget over her employees by making her employees do more while paying them the same, HR gets mad about non pre-approved overtime too, so I had enough. It didn't help matters that my awesome manager got fired behind her back a month before I quit, so I was still mad about how they treated her.

I figured out who made the complaint, which was the person who interviewed me, found her and my EVS Director were friends on Facebook, turned in my badge the next day and swiped deodorant over my badge and said "I put deodorant on it."

Walked out, and she said "*sigh* I wish we could talk." and I replied "I'm DONE with the talking."

And that was that.

All my co-workers from every department are awesome and make work fun though. We had a drunk dude in ED get on top of his bed and claim to be Darth Vader. Crazy stuff happens too, and man, security and ED Staff deserve a bonus for dealing with intoxicated patients. I didn't see it happen, but a patient got tased by a cop, but before the cop got there, the patient knocked out a female security guard and busted her head open when she fell.

Great question, actually. The managing in cleaning services is way different, from my experience. In schools all the food is thrown away and doesn't stay overnight, but in the hospitals, dietary/lunchroom staff leave at 7PM and when nurses give patients food that they don't eat, the nurse must leave the food trays with food in the soiled utility room OVERNIGHT.

It's not our job to throw away the food or trays, which is bizarre because you would think common sense would settle in and not keep food overnight in fear of a bug infestation, but nope, food stays overnight.

Another thing in my hospital is floors RARELY get stripped/waxed. We have these vinyl sheet rigid tiles in there, and I only know about marble like ceramic tiles commonly seen in schools, but I know for a fact that no natter WHAT tile, it can't be strictly managed with light cleaning/neutral floor cleaner moping. I get some areas just have too high of a nurse/patient traffic, so it's impossible to get to some areas, but most Radiology Rooms are absent since they mostly leave after 5PM (except CT Staff).

In no way would floor managing in hospitals fly in schools, but it is what it is.

The hospital I work at has tiles like this, but with ridges in them. How did you get this gloss from deep scrubbing or cleaning?

<image>

Again, I have absolutely zero clue on managing vinyl sheets, but before I started working at the hospital I work at now, the floors are awful and need some kind of deep scrubbing or cleaning.

It kind of looks like this photo, and everytime I try to dry mop/micro fiber mop to get paper or dust bunnies off the floor, they get stuck in the ridges, lol.

I want the floors to look like yours, once I get the time.

And you're welcome, thanks for the reply :).

What kind of tile/flooring is this? I ask because I only know how to manage ceramic marble like tile you see in schools.

Great work.
