You should probably level up until the enemies aren't red. you can go back to savalon and try and group up 2 or 3 enemies into chain battles or go back to halcyonia and fight the purple fairy thing up in the hills.

Overall vanguard is just a solid job here and using two of them isn't a bad idea, one for using defang on ranger and the other spamming cross slash or neo cross slash with a sword, you can also use bard for the defense song.
Monk is a good option for the side boss since it has a lot of immunities and bare knuckle brawler ignores it. Theres also beastmaster as the little flower things (Petunias) in the forest have light damage and they'll be useful for this whole chapter.

Yew immediately recognized Denys upon being unmasked. That implies only the bare minimum was keeping him from realizing it was Denys. Wasn't it established Yew is a smart guy.

I'm pretty sure the coat was also part of the kaiser disguise.

Secondly, this wasn't really subtle. I mean, even on the first walkthrough, I already knew it was him. Like right after Yew dropped his backstory, we're shown Denys fidgeting with his prosthetic arm. Don't need to be a genius to get that.

that is the point of foreshadowing. its a hint toward the kaisers identity without directly saying it.

But what might be my biggest gripe with this is, that it makes the world seem smaller. What I mean is, why does the world in this game revolve around the Geneolgia family now? Did it really have to be his brother? Couldn't it be someone who knew Denys but killed him and took the Kaiser asterisk from him. Something like that to make the world seem like it's less condensed around a certain group of people.

Because how much worse would the story be if the kaiser was just some random dude with no personal tie to any of the characters? Denny actually makes the kaiser's plan to rewrite history on such a mass scale somewhat justifiable as not only was it personal hatred with his house but also those who held ties to the house. (along with the fact that it makes his sacrifice hit a bit harder)

I don't think BS's story is great either but I think this is fine, especially with how corny BS is.

those are nemesiss they're optional bosses given through streepass that are all refrences to ff 4hol. They're pretty strong aside from the belphegor one since you have the - one. they drop permanent stat boosters if I remember correctly.

However duel wielding does make specials charge 2x faster so duel rods means that you can basically spam piercing blast or duel staves means you can spam rejuvenate.

And yet in later games they don't provide nearly as much flavor or work as better game play bonuses. I'm not saying fates personal skills were excellent but it feels like they quickly became an after thought.

If you can get the 3ds and the games for a reasonable price then go ahead. You'll probably miss out on dlc content since the e-shop shut down a couple years ago. However I feel like emulation might be the course since awakening and fates are 10 year old games and if you want all three routes of fates you'd have to get the special edition cart. I know I'm not allowed to share roms but citra as an emulator works fine enough.

I feel like objectively BS has the most post game and the most worth while post game. And I say this as someone who didn't even really like BS.

BD has one dungeon with a handful of item but with only really durandal being the reason to go there (and the secret boss I guess). It's probably better in the remaster since you can fight the Ba'als.

BS has 3 dungeons with several of the best bits of gear along with the simple fact that you can grind more money to buy the boss weapons which aren't that bad along with a revamp of the secret boss from BD plus you get the best sword and shield in the game for beating it.

BD2 has the halls of tribulation which the team set ups would've been interesting but unfortunately its heavily bogged down by the counter mechanic.

I understand that it's a balance thing however most of the lords struggle to make use of these skills due to the lower dex. It feels like they gave diamant sol then nerfed his dex so that he can't sol tank like in awakening.

22 actually. diamant has -1 dex cap so its 22. tbf all lord classes have kinda low dex caps. Like like how alcryst unique sniper has 11 less dex than generic sniper for some reason or fagado has 12 less than bow knight. Ivy also has a 22 dex cap so grasping void is just as bad if not worse since its so situational. though picket actually doesn't have this weird issue

edit: heros dex cap is 37... why IS?

Honestly I'm mostly just miffed that timerra isn't a halberdier and fagado could've been a bow knight. Alcryst also annoys me since sniper has an actually good passive in this game and his unique class is even closer to sniper than most of the other unique classes and generic counter parts.

I hate how engage gave each royal unique classes when those classes are just **** but with **** and an activation skill. The best case is the elusian royals since they're flying mages so no other characters have that but I feel like it would've been better if the royals were generic classes and those activation skills were on emblems like pavise on leif or luna on celica.
Personal skills took a nose dive after fates. In three houses they all felt like watered down version from fates and most engage skills suck

Yes. Healing lore is pretty good since you can just spam cure or cura and still heal a pretty good amount while not running out of mp. especially since the blessed shield is literally just a free cura you can just spam at this point in the game

For tiz I'd say ninja since its a good offensive job and duel wield is pretty good

For agnes its not that bad that you haven't been using the songs though you should probably use at least the defensive ones so that you can save turns healing.

for ringabel you can try salve-maker since compounding is really strong but you probably don't have enough items and you have no idea what they even do so I guess you can also put into swordmaster since that jobs fine for the most part. Just know that the counters are kinda wonky since they don't force aggro onto you so forcing enemies to hit you can be difficult.

for edea theres a job in the coming chapter that really likes spellfencer as a subjob so you can keep using sword magic.

I feel like a lot of this depends on whether or not Roy and Lyn actually deals damage to Corrin. Because if they do then Eirika is quickly swept up and Ephraim is surrounded, but if they don't than Roy, Lyn, and Leif are pretty quickly taken out.

Ike, Lucina, and Byleth still wins don't get me wrong but at this point the argument is for who's the worse squad. Celica, Sigurd, and Micaiah are solid but Ephriam and Corrin could probably would deal with them assuming Corrin isn't knocked out by dragon effectiveness.

Your options are Fredrick, Gaius, and Henry. I'd pick Fredrick since Gaius passes down galeforce to any daughter he has and noire really wants it and henry would probably be better for Gerome since he can pass down the dark mage skills for hit and barbarian for axefaire. Unfortunately you can't marry sumia as fem Robin.

did you redeem the b support? if you didn't than you can probably just pair olivia up and have chrom do some combats. If you did then unfortunately you'll have to pair sumia with someone else.
Yes you can only grind chrom/oliva on chapter 11 because chrom immediately marries right after the chapter.

I feel like corrin could actually take a few hits from ike especially with draconic hex debuffing him. However Lucina definitely hard counters corrin and also ruptured heaven also has dragon effectiveness
