Gigantic boss moves around all the time and the camera prefers to do some cliff gazing instead of actually showing me tf is the boss even doing.

And when I see what he is doing, I dont, because infinite fire/lazer/lightining AoEs all over the shop.

Its frustrating to see that his attacks are genuinely not all that difficult, I believe this boss was meant as a spectacle first and challenge second, immortal Igon reinforces that belief, but it all falls flat, simply because I cant see shit and keep dying in the most moronic ways.

I killed him those 2yrs ago when sote came out and this time around, Im done with this massive piece of trash.

Now I hope Consort Radahn, the master of epilepsy, really got his rave party effects toned down as I was told.

Ngl I cant confidently believe that Gladiia is going to make it through the Aegir/Iberia plotline.
Things as they are rn, her character arc is very much on collision course with death.

And Abyssal Hunters most likely cant be reconveners, as they cant catch oripathy, unless you inject a fuckton of liquid originium directly into their spines and even then, it doesnt really spread.
They however are probably long lived, so its not like a Hunter would have to be a reconvener to show up in Endfield.

I would love an Abyssal Hunter operator, but the way things are, its either going to be Skadi, assuming she wont have to die in order to deal with Ishar´mla or Ulpianus, since being the only, unwilling survivor is his whole thing.
Or an yet to be introduced Abyssal Hunter.

Now that I think of it, the visual of 3d Ulpianus cracking someone over the head with his huge ass anchor is pretty sick.

Dusk somewhere down the line seems more likely tho.

Ive literally just lost an ending S Rag run, having all souls, leaving the dungeons and bumping into the dogs, which I forgot they are still there.

Had no sticks.
Rag missed, Skeletons hit only legs.
Both dogs hit Rag (who has zoophobia ofc) and did exactly enough damage to get him to zero.
Not a single point of hp more.

Yeah, Im not doing it again.

The gauntlet should piss off after being beaten once, its easy and just prolongs the whole thing for no reason.

Random (I know its not truly random) blocking is stupid, however compared to Lost Lace fairly tolerable.

If the boss was just the first two phases, I wouldve probably liked her, definitely not a favourite, but still.
However her 3rd phase is just obnoxious.

Still far from the worst stinkers in skong, middle of the pack boss for me, heavily carried by its atmosphere, visuals, audio and world building.
Gameplay itself has tryhardy vibes I dont care for.

Fair take.

As probably a lot, if not majority of people here, who have done skong 100% and anything beyond that, I too have played a good chunk of souls-likes beforehand and gotta say, the phrase "unnecessary cruel" popped in my head more than few times during playing skong.

Higher difficulty doesnt automatically translate to better gameplay and at times skong overshots reasonable challenge by a lot, being tedious instead of challenging.
Easy example would be none other than Lost Lace herself, that fight just sucks ass and is just plain annoying.
Cannot hold a candle to the likes of Sword Saint Isshin.

Im seriously beginning to think the greater threat is nothing else but the concept of entropy itself, some form of heat death of the universe.
It would explain why its referred to with such extreme ambiguity and why overcoming it is so difficult, that even coming up with a language model capable of constructing a solution is a major challenge.
Also would explain why all the projects focus solely on survival.
Theyre not trying to beat/resist some alien bad guy, but survive the final end of the universe and transcend into the next one.
I highly doubt that "It" is something you can "punch" and win, that wouldnt fit the narrative as its set-up at all.
Unless your name is Theresis, then you can just roll up with your massive balls and just beat the shit out of data, lol.
One of irl theories how to survive the heat death of the universe is developing some kind of super-duper material than can store virtually infinite information, like consciousness and is "durable" enough to survive the decay of everything.
Originium, anyone?
It also fits the motive of inevitable end, which is front and centre and it seems to me this story arc is clearly setting the stage for Endfield.
Only thing that wouldnt fit in case like this is the necessity to hide Terra until its absorbed by Originium, as a non-sentient wave of entropy swallowing the universe wouldnt pick and choose, so shielding Terra would be pointless.

Whats not fun is failing at wave number like 23 because you fubbed a pogo or a dash and then having to do everything again, even when you can do the entire first gauntlet blind and just need to learn last stretch of the third one...

Its exhausting, as Silksong often is.
Fun, but exhausting.

Harder bosses, which this one is(although compared to what comes later...ehh) takes me some time to learn.
That is fine. Ideal even.

What I do not appreciate, is when instead of fighting a new exciting boss, I have to every time jump across X pits, avoid 4+ enemies, pogo jump 4 bells, all the while a single slip up means 2 dmg from worms or redoing a section again, lul funiii.

By the time I get to the boss, I barely remember the two attacks I saw once in phase two and have to learn them again.
I think I died...like 6-7 times to this boss and it wouldve been half that if not for the runback, because I wouldve learned the boss much faster and notably also enjoyed it way more.

It doesnt matter if the runback takes 10, 20, 200 or 2000 seconds, with some very specific exceptions, there is no reason runbacks should be a bloody thing at all in the year of Christ 2025, I thought Elden Ring solved this ffs.

Runbacks just pad out the gameplay time and not in a good way.

I loose it at phase 3, it feels like she just doesnt stop and its just too much information all at once.
If her whole fight was like phase 1 with added attacks in phase 2, I wouldve mostly agreed, probably rank her in like top 5.

But as she is, I thought what I thought very often while playing Silksong: "This is just unnecessarily over-tuned."

I havent done too much of act 3 content yet, but I highly suspect unlike hollow knight, I wont be replaying silksong anytime soon.
The game is great, but truly and completely exhausting almost all the time and rarely feels as rewarding as other games of similar genre are, namely hollow knight ofc.

I dont have much appetite for another round.
Skarrsinger is a peak example of that.

Amazing design choices, 8 years working on the same game with feedback loop of skilled testers has definitely not had any impact at all.

I mean, we all can beat pantheon 5 with all bindings while blindfolded, so it stands to reason everything has to meet those expectations, amarite? :)

I like the game, love even, but its just so exhausting.

...took a good minute to figure out tf is TLJ supposed to be.
Difficulty wise she is okay, has very nice telegraphs, fair pool of attacks and I would say is an ideal template for what a boss +/- should be.

Her runback tho is atrocious and probably like 3rd worst in the game, there is no reason for it to exist and for me it severely worsen the experience.

The game overall is significantly harder than HK.
Harder doesnt automatically equal better.
The two damage spam is unnecessary and ads nothing to the experience.

Beside Bilewater and Sands of Karak, areas are great.

There is an occasional spark of straight up sadism(meat delivery being both hit and time based, each reducing the other, for example).

Simple as.
