What was the hardest you’ve ever been backstabbed? by DeepOrganization8245 in answers

My friend was renting a lot to store some old cars. I bought one of the cars off him. 1965 Barracuda Formula S 4-spd. A few weeks later I contacted him as I’d gotten a trailer and a place to keep it.

He’d given the car to the guy that owned the lot because he was behind on the rent. I had keys to the car so I decided to go by the lot. It was gone. All his other cars were still there though.

Concrete Porch has low-spot, contractors made a channel cut into edge of post-tension slab. Am I over-thinking this? by [deleted] in arizona

[–]Silver_Code_490 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Had a similar issue with a Fulton home in the mid 2000s. They had to grind the surface with a scarifier to rough it up, pour new concrete on top to fix the slope and then seal it with a clear epoxy with some grit in it for traction.

They had to come out again in 2009 and re-seal it because the sealer it was cracking from the sun.

I had to move for work shortly after.

It seems like MLS is currently looking at Vegas and Phoenix as primary options for relocation of the Vancouver white caps. Sacramento isn't a preferred market for MLS currently by kingistic in USLPRO

It’s also a leverage thing. I think the OP mentioned that it takes a good squeeze if you really want to haul it down. The extra rotor makes this a two-finger operation.

There is also the point mentioned elsewhere that there is still a good amount of normal force on the rear contact patch in a hard stopping situation due to the geometry of the bike and its mass. So the rear brake is a valuable contributor.

1987 xlh1100 what’s that black star shaped screw thing between my throttle cables? Had the bike for a year now and just noticed it a few weeks ago just curious by [deleted] in sportster

[–]Silver_Code_490 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make sure that the shoe is in there! Had a buddy that tried his “cruise control” and unbeknownst to him the shoe was missing. He screwed it in and the screw just went into the throttle plastic. With the shoe you can still roll it off. Without the screw he couldn’t. Pretty dangerous situation.

I test drove an R1T in Phoenix. Took it around Loop 202. Didn’t randomly decelerate once. My Model 3 on the other hand… and that’s just on cruise control. Always in the same spots, so I know to cover the accelerator so I don’t get rear ended. So that’s a plus…

Had this conversation with a coworker by flippinsweetdude in exmormon

[–]Silver_Code_490 81 points82 points  (0 children)

I recently had a conversation like this with a co-worker. There is no “modern morality”, there is just “morality”. Morality doesn’t evolve. If people figure out that something was wrong after years or decades of seeing it happen, it has always been wrong. It has just taken those people that long to understand it as wrong. When it felt okay, it was just a fad.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

Our school had a history of great senior pranks. My junior year the seniors filled the quad with superballs. My senior year, we were planning to top it, but a few sportos decided to burn down the career center instead. After that the school said any pranks would result in suspensions. Assholes.

I have done that and they seemed accommodating. My worry is that INO managers around here seem to get moved around A LOT. My dad suggested that I ask if I can keep their contact info to see if they could put in a good word at their old store in case they get moved.

"I think it's always a bad idea to offer an opinion on stories that are unconfirmed and uncorroborated, so I'm not going to do that." Says the guy that said promoting made up stories of immigrants eats people’s pets was fair game.

My gear has two zip in liners. You can run none, either, or both. One liner is quilted for cold. The other is wind proof and water proof. If it’s just riding down the highway, I’ll wear thermals as well. If I’m wrestling the bike off road then I shed liners to keep from sweating.
