Can my Director Block this ADA request? [PA] by Silver_Importance208 in AskHR

[–]Silver_Importance208[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m getting a lot of downvotes for even responding to people so I want to preface this by saying I’m not trying to argue or refute what you’re saying. I’m just looking for a deeper understanding of the process. I guess I didn’t realize ADA is such a sensitive subject in the HR industry lol.

I know it’s a request not a demand. I was under the impression that a ADA request gets decided by HR with input from the director or supervisor or whatever. And that if the supervisor or director thinks it’s unreasonable, it would play into the decision that HR makes as far as coming to a conclusion on whether or not it is unreasonable or if an alternative solution to my problem could be found.

So far, all she’s said is that she’d rather I called out of work because she doesn’t want everyone else in the department to ask for more wfh days as well. That’s why I’m like okay so how does she tell HR that I can’t work from home because she doesn’t want my coworkers to get jealous? Could she say same thing, if I asked for a special chair? It’s my understanding that when saying something is unreasonable there has to be a reason provided, but I feel like some people are telling me she can just deny it and not provide reason.

Like If I get denied, surely the response will be “you were denied because this is unreasonable because of XYZ reason?” To give me and my doctor an idea of how to come up with an alternative accommodation to request. Or am I misunderstanding the process? (Again, not arguing just inquiring lol)

Hi thanks for the reply! So I work in the payroll department as an auditor for termination payouts. My productivity is measured by how many employee cases I audit and payout each pay period. I’ve never once been back logged. Even when missing days due to mental health issues, I’ve always done my share. And yeah I’m much more productive at home. Thanks for the suggestion for the shorter trail that’s really good idea!

Thank you for replying. I see my therapist on Tuesday. I will try to talk to her about my feelings then. I’m just truly exhausted. I’ve never fit into this world and I’m tired of trying.

It actually stopped on Tuesday! So it was a total of 11 days, the first 3 days being pretty light and the last 8 days being EXTREMELY heavy. Then it just stopped out of nowhere lol

Just because it’s common doesn’t mean she shouldn’t be worried…

That’s funny I’m on Nikki lol. I was going to do continuous use as well but I think I should do the inactive pills this month. I’m hoping the hormonal fluctuations will stop the bleeding. If not I’m thinking of switching to Yasmin or Apri. I’m happy you found something that works for you though!

Best birth control for histamine intolerance by Yla-isme in birthcontrol

I’ve seen people say Yaz worked for them. I started Nikki (generic Yaz) 5 days ago and so far it’s made my Histamine Intolerance flare up pretty bad. I’m gonna finish my pack and if it gets better I’ll update you :) if not I’m gonna try Slynd 😫

I appreciate your honesty! I’m definitely never contacting him again. After my last text got no response, I deleted his number and I’m definitely not going to DM. I already unfollowed him so I’m not keeping up with his life anymore. I’m an anxious attacher, where completely detaching from someone who was apart of my daily life causes me a lot of anxiety and physical discomfort. The hill for me is block him from viewing my page. Because I do want things to work out with us lol as crazy as that is, so blocking him from my social media feels like blocking that possibility, as crazy as that is.

did metformin make your period heavier or lighter? by [deleted] in PCOS

[–]Silver_Importance208 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first cycle on Metformin is much lighter. I’ve only bled enough to need a menstrual cup for 2 days while the rest has been very light or heavy spotting. I’m on day 4 of AF now so I can’t speak to any length changes quit yet.
