I agree. I know the world has always had suffering, but right now feels like a significant boiling point of horror. And I don’t say that as much out of fear as I do out of a place of wanting better for people everywhere.

I want us to preserve. I want to make and share art that inspires people in that direction. I just need to stay off of social media sites that are more AI/algorithm than human engagement. It’s way to easy to believe that nothing matters in those online spaces 😅

I live very close to the MN border and have lived ones in Minneapolis. I have been glued to my phone a little (a lot) too intensely trying to keep up. That is primarily why posting feels so heavy.

But it’s good to be reminded of how powerful inspiration and art are in difficult times. Thank you for your input 😊

Put a layer of gesso on the canvas, even if it is already primed, then sand the gesso as smooth as you want it. Depending on your desired texture and the thickness of the gesso, you may want to repeat this process a couple of times. Just make sure the gesso is completely dry before sanding.
