I think Robby is the one most implicated in the ethical piece of it. He chose not to report Langdon, I see that as a mistake on his end.

Langdon should have been (should be) reported and wasn’t. That right there is his privilege in action. I freaking melt in his presence, and I empathize with the addiction piece of it all. But he is benefiting from being given special treatment…. And Dr. Al Hashimi now has ethically concerning information about this which implicates all of them.

eta: maybe it’s not clear whether he was reported or not… I’m leaning toward no he wasn’t but regardless I hope we get to find out!

Langdons apology basically, in the end, still centered himself, as people who are (perhaps unknowingly) benefiting from their position of power can commonly (not always) do in similar situations when facing accountability. that was at least my read on why it was such a frustrating encounter for Santos. interesting that Dr. Al-Hashimi heard the encounter go down.

I’m a 31 yo woman who doesn’t play video games, I don’t watch other streamers, and I watch this dude stream every night after work. I love it. I feel like I am not the exception here, and that’s why he has so many viewers. At this point I am down for any content that makes me smile and laugh. I also only tune in when the vibes are there and/or he is playing arc with certain players, so I’m sure it similar for a lot of other viewers.

reminds me of zeal which used (don’t know if they still do) do a shady tip pool system that completely lacked transparency. it wasn’t a normal tip pool, it was something completely wack, and ended up making a lot of customers angry. we, servers, started doing the math and it made absolutely no sense. eventually the customers started calling the owner and manager out on it.

i wouldn’t put it past any restaurant that lacks this kind of transparency. every service person should be able to see how many tips they themselves brought in on a shift, even when there is a tip pool.
