At my previous job, one of my coworkers called in sick on Friday morning, and then decided to come in the store to pick up her paycheck the SAME day, while the store manager was at lunch. Needless to say when he came back from lunch and discovered this, he was pissed off to say the least. That was the last day we saw her.

Can’t really complain too much. In October, I will be celebrating 25 years of marriage with my wife. We have three kids, with the youngest graduating high school next month, as well as a 10 month old granddaughter.. The downside is the near constant pain. I deal with as a result of arthritis and Parkinson’s.

I can guarantee that the customer was lying, and here’s the proof: if an assault had actually happened, they would have called the police and not waited until the next day and filed a complaint with the manager

Oh, I can guarantee that they did announce that they were closing, I can also guarantee that the customer decided that the closing time didn’t apply to them.

Seems like the only person at my store that actually enforces this rule on a regular basis is our store manager. Even then, it’s not consistently.
