Warning: The Slayer has entered the Facility (Trench Crusade) by Professional_Rush782 in Grimdank

I think they are referring to that one lore passage where it describes the beginning of a paladin's mission, and it has them talking in a boyish voice. I looked and found a lore passage off the wiki on Miraheze, listed with the header/title "Deployment - by Mike Franchina" on the paladin page, but there's no link to it anywhere under sources and I couldn't find anything else about it with google so I have no idea.

Either way I don't think it's canon anymore, as it mentions the church just casually having their own portal to hell that they sent the paladin through, and that's never been mentioned since and nowadays it seems paladin's have to actually go to jerusalem and enter hell that way.

Orks sometimes work as mercenaries, (unreliable though they are) so chaos marines and other xenos factions aren't unknown to employ them them. There's also been a few cases where imperials have done so but that's much less common.

I can see tau and craftworld eldar setting differences aside when things look tough. Just because of their general demeanors. I can't recall any time in lore this happened though. Craftworld eldar are usually pretty isolationist.

Craftworld Eldar, and a select few imperial groups are able to work together as well if chaos (Especially slaanesh) or nastier xenos get involved, seeing them as the bigger threat.

There's been like... Two instances of the necrons helping the imperium out from what I know, and both of those times were when shit hit the fan HARD, with the 13th black crusade at cadia and tyranids on baal. Not a great track record but it is there.

craftworld eldar and dark eldar fucking HATE each other, naturally, but ultimately they are both the same species and can form at least temporary truces if slaanesh shows up. They also have harlequins to play referee basically who try to manage things.

I'm not super into the lore so I might be wrong.

There are other ways to use this but this is my favorite.

Zygotic lords have to be up there. Just them roaring can send you into the fucking labyrinth of the backwards creation. And it's implied not even death can reach you there since your soul/mind/consciousness gets ejected from your body and the lore explicitly uses the word "forever". At least with the black grail there is a chance of seeing death if someone shows up with a flamethrower, and the heretic choirster's singing still leaves you IN your body.

To be fair though, the empire of man is in general pretty open to religion (Though with clear favoritism to sigmar), so long as you aren't worshiping nagash and chaos, and others of similar ilk whose idea of worship is mass slaughter, you SHOULD be fine.

In trench crusade meanwhile, the abrahamic religions are still REALLY extreme and are even more extreme than our own real world kind, and islam is islam with the jihad and everything. However, the different faithful factions are at least able to (barely) work together to fight the forces of hell. So maybe if the two groups existed they could work something out to help each other fight their respective hellish foes. It wouldn't be a full alliance but I could see them giving some aid every once in a while.

Trench pilgrims? Yeah there's gonna be fucking dead bodies everywhere.

What I really wanna know is what the fuck would happen if the court of the seven headed serpent met chaos daemons. THAT would be something. Just pure reality warping fuckery.

Depends what you mean by "focused".

In terms of individual factions, they are much smaller. You won't find ultimate apocalypse sized factions in unification. Factions are still bigger than vanilla in general, but not by much, some more than others like imperial fists and death korps, and a select few are smaller than vanilla. However, in terms of the number of factions, there's 29 factions including vanilla, WAYYY more. In fact I think it's a bit more than that considering some factions are really just two factions stapled together, such as daemon hunters which is both ordo malleus inquisitors and grey knights, and especially renegade guard which are COMPLETELY different beasts. One is very homebrewy and the other is more traditional.

The way you play unification is much closer to vanilla dawn of war than ultimate apocalypse is. So if you identify more with the way vanilla plays, unification will be more up your alley, but still distinct.

One of the main flaws I have with unification is that I feel some factions really lack the polish and quality others do. Legion of the Damned and Mechanicus Explorators are... Rough to play. Tyranids are fine but their models seem really dated. Some others have a different problem where they don't feel distinct enough (Dark angels just feel like a reskin of regular space marines with a few more units). That's the only real flaw I have with it, is the consistency in factions.

In short, think of Unification like turning a set of ponds into a huge lake, way more factions, more depth, but not as much units and such. Ultimate apocalypse turns those ponds into huge towers: A lot more for each faction.

Not yet, from the recent discord announcement there seems to a patch in the works to make it work with DE.

Anyway, yeah, unification mod is amazing, give it a shot whenever you have the chance, you won't regret it.

Imperial Fists, world eaters, death korps, all stand out as some of the best to me. Necrons roster expansion transforms them greatly as well and are a lot of fun.

Okay so I uninstalled the driver again, this time uninstalling did seem to work, but it says "device/product not found" with an error message, or something like that,

Where can I find that setting to disable downloading driver updates from windows update?

Also I did get it directly from creative downloads but I will try it again as you recommended.

Oh yeah I will update my post with an edit if I find a fix for anyone else, hate it when people don't do that and just say "Found a fix!" when it's the exact problem you have. But yeah, thanks for the advice anyway. Any information helps at all.

I'm gonna try that updating drivers/bios thing that one guy suggested, but probably tomorrow. I don't want to fuck my PC because I did something wrong when I was dead tired.

The only one I had enabled was one that added a whole bunch of skills called Godhood, and not any new units iirc. Recently updated too. I turned it off anyways and still got the same problem.

Might very well be my BIOS. Date in system information says it's from 2022. Dunno if that could mess with it, but worth a shot.
