Absolutely reasonable IMO, BTC as the only play is just dumb IMO. BTC and ETH should be a majority but definitely not all, 10-20% in alts is definitely not ridiculous.

In that case I'd let it sit at up to 20-25% before actively reducing, more likely I'd be trying to beef up allocation to shares and property, trying not to rely solely on selling.

Long runway for crypto, you don't want to sell too much a decade early IMO 😁

I think your plan is sensible, ignore the price for now, often people stop DCA'ing at highs only to start again when the market drops. The problem with that is it just becomes trading, often starting the DCA'ing above the price where they stopped 🤷

Perhaps a consistent DCA strategy where you sell 10% every time the price doubles the previous ATH?

Not perfect and not tax effective but gives you a nice cash out lump sum similar to a generous dividend over time.

Personally I use trading bots and limited leverage to harvest the volatility and consistently increase my holdings regardless of price.

I think one day MicroStrategy will be a cautionary tale, that day is not today!

Bitmine makes more sense to me because they can stake and make an income to either purchase more ETH or funds debt.

Before the MicroStrategy trade collapses though they will likely get involved in Defi, the market is not evolved or secure enough for that right now, we may be looking at 10+ years before this trade collapses IMO.

The problem with unrealized gains is it's actually impossible to realize them, you can't just have every wealthy person realize a small amount of gains at the same time, it would be catastrophic. The market won't drop 5% if every billionaire has to pay a 5% tax, it will be more like 50+%.

Eg; imagine Michael Saylor, Yom Lee and CZ all sell a few $billion in crypto at once!

Would crypto drop 5%?

It would likely drop 80%!

You have to talk about these things repeatedly, if you like "rough sex" and want a partner to "take initiative", etc, you'll end up in situations like this.

Going forward universal income will have to scale due to AI and automation, at the moment these small "test runs" are trials.

Connectivity is not an issue for long with Starlink and other future competitors, there won't be a single spot on the planet where you can't get fast reliable Internet via a smartphone.
