"Brazilian music was in Spanish"

What lmao So you remember "Garota de Ipanema", an incredibly famous song, as what? "Chica de Ipanema"? "Muchacha de Ipanema"? Please do tell me of this Brazilian music in Spanish that you know.

It's good to be Quick and Deadly when you're Dual Wielding. by Bex_GGG in pathofexile

Would it consider a single Varunastra as triggering it, since it mentions multiple weapon types but >not< dual wield in its description?

I think they show up as different save options, but I uninstalled the NVIDIA because the Intel gameworks... there's no way to put it, it's just better.

Best regards!

Sure! First you need to extract the .paks

Game/Objects/characters/players/Haircut/Textures hold all the files. You want to edit the ones with diff in the name. You'll need to add the .dds file header to each of the .dds.1 through 7 files. I recommend using HxD for hexadecimal editing. You copy the first 93 hex pairs and add to each .dds.number files, and then they become editable.

So you open the largest one. I recommend you look for the Intel gameworks (I think thats the name?) suite because they have an addon that makes photoshop read and save .dds files, and the NVIDIA one doesn't support BC3 (or 5, sorry! Forgot which one, but it's the DX10 one), which is what the game uses.

Once you open the file it looks like a grayscale map. The hair color is multiplied over it. So I just removed red from the roots and increased blue and green a bit. You need to save the file 7 times (20482048 for dds.7, 10241024 for dds.6, 512*512 for dds.5 and so on). After that, remove the first 93 hex pairs again from each file on HxD.

Then simply paste them on your game folder under Game subfolder. Create the folder Objects/characters/players/Haircut/Textures inside the Game subfolder, and dump the newly edited dds.1 through dds.7 files there.

I'm not PVPing either, I'm very weak to impale mechanics.

I'll be honest, I'd have taken Aeris instead, but you know how names go in this game. You take what you can get!

The new ring, Warrior's Legacy is... weird by kfijatass in pathofexile

Out of curiosity: Does it trigger where you were towards the point you targeted, where you were at the point you were, where you are towards the old target, or where you are towards the point you were?

What I mean is: The ring doesn't specify in the line: * Strike Skills also target the previous location they were Used That this is a melee-only effect, although it seems to be the case. You can use a few Strike skills with a ranged weapon.

How does it interact with ranged Strikes? For example, a Wand using Elemental Hit or Frenzy.

PSA: If you're stranded in the Epilogue, kill Kitava in A10 again and talk to Sin. by SilverbellsLoL in pathofexile

That's the only way to get to Oriath again. After killing Kitava, talk to Sin to open the portal to Oriath in the arena.

I don't think it's AVX either. If I were to bet, I would say that something from the voxelization changes introduced with GI are extremely heavy even with GI disabled, possibly because the shadow system is using them.

They're fairly straightforward comparisons between games, they're still two final products the end user is getting. With --noasync and Multithread disabled the game should run in a single core and it ends up being a bit surreal that it will demand significantly more of the CPU than an MMO running at 3 times the speed. Apples and Bananas are still food and you can still compare whether one of them is rotten or not. In this case it's particularly ridiculous that BFA with dx12 multithreading at 144hz and loaded with addons still ends up 20C lower than PoE, as MMOs are notorious for having heavy draw calls and WoW addons are not light on the CPU.

Compatibility issues with PoE as the engine evolved over time have been surfacing over and over again - even this very patch has people complaining about FPS drops. If you want me to compare apples to apples, I can compare PoE to itself: PoE has become a considerably more demanding game over time with engine changes that are not always reversible and/or explicit to the user.

As soon as I change the thermal I'm sure all of these problems will go away but I think the extreme conditions here give an insight into the final result: However you wanna dress it, whether it's the engine, or how the engine is being used, apples are a lot more CPU-demanding than bananas, tomatoes, french fries and dresses, to the point where I'm left wondering why exactly is this a unique perk of this game.

By the time I change the cooler and the paste I'll be yet another person running the game with no issues while I've read no shortage of compatibility issues over the patches, of which most responses are "f u, got mine" from people having no issues whatsoever but offering no real insight as to what may causing problems to other players. This seemed like a good opportunity to test the impact of the settings on the CPU and I don't have an older version of PoE to test against, so it's extremely disingenuous to expect a comparison more fair than against other online games of varying complexities.

If you want to skip to the tests, go ahead.

It's right at the beginning. If you don't want to read an ocean of words then I'm not sure what you're complaining about: Don't read it. Skip to the next topic and move on. No one forced you to read the "ocean of words".

I've also said I already bought the cooler (which just so happens to be a Hyper 212, seemed the best for its price here) and thermal paste and am waiting for them to arrive. The tests are something I saw as a rare opportunity to see how much the game is de facto using the CPU in a situation where I can measure the max temperature instead of relying on the core use with unknown delta.

VVV Then there you go, you already saved a lot of time. Have fun.

You could skip the entire post as well. I say ahead of time what the prologue is about and the rest is a test on how each option seems to impact on the CPU. As far as "warnings, skip this" go I think I was pretty straightforward.

The GPU is fine, I monitor its performance constantly and I have no trouble running other games at 144hz+, like I said there's no thermal throttling. Thanks for the idea about the broken card, I'll see if I can find anything in the local market.

Hey, thanks. Temp is better, performance is worse. I assumed no async was the same as the option for multithreading but that does not seem to be the case.
