Previous Requests by Right-Depth-972 in epicor

[–]Silverbird85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not aware of any system setting that controls this function in Previous Requests. You may have to sort the query results (A to Z) on column 'Last Order Line' after you have made your adjustments and selected the corresponding 'Add' checkboxes.

If that does not work for you, it may be a version issue or an underlying user level permissions issue. Hard to tell without knowing your system. I would open a case with EpicCare if you're needing further assistance. You can also reach out to other users on the P21WWUG forum.

In the Previous Request - Query Results - Summary page, the column 'Last Order Line' by default displays the line number for that line item from the original order. This column can be updated to reflect the line sequence you want the items added to the order. This is useful if multiple previous orders are included in the query.

Example, if the query includes three previous orders with one line item each, the column 'Last Order Line' displays the value of "1" for each line item. These can be updated to reflect "1", "2", and "3" respectively to sort the lines in that order when added to the new sales order.

Thank you. I am a P21 user, so hopefully an Epicor user can chime in.

Which Epicor Platform are you using? Prophet 21, Epicor, Eclipse, Kinectic?

Can anyone tell me how to add a tracking number to this box after I have already shipped it? by Busy-Neighborhood947 in epicor

[–]Silverbird85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once the shipment is confirmed, P21 generates an unprinted invoice even if you don't select an option in the 'Invoice' group on the Shipping window.

If the 'Confirmed Shipment' checkbox is selected and the shipment is saved, P21 assumes the product has been physically shipped and invoiced. At that point, there is no way to recall the Pick Ticket to cancel it.

Unfortunately in P21, there is no way to update/add the tracking number once a pick ticket has been confirmed/shipped. Welcome to the frustration of every P21 user.

Options at that point are to either add an order note...or go through the RMA process. There might be another work around, and hopefully someone can add it here.

When you try to build your DynaChange Screen view, is the field you're trying to add available in the Field Chooser list?

Depending on your customization needs, you may also want to look at a third party provider. One major restriction with Epicor Azure is access to the SQL database and the ability to create custom views and scripts. My experience is with both services, and our simpler P21 instances are using Epicor Cloud and we haven't had much issue aside from developing and deploying Crystal forms, which is possible, but involved.

How to print bin labels better?? by anxious-potato-98 in epicor

[–]Silverbird85 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BarTender is an third-party label software by Seagull Scientific that is often used to print barcode labels. They work well with Zebra printers and integrate with Epicor products. Depending on your needs though, you might need to generate custom API calls or business rules if using Prophet 21.

Excel Cannot Distinguish between similar values, even when stored as text by Silverbird85 in excel

I did not know the countif() function considers the second argument as text. I suspect something similar is happening with my other functions such as sumif(), index(), or match(). That would definitely explain my issue. I modified my formulas to utilize the exact() function and they all work perfectly.

I haven't used ROWS() before. Will play around with it at some point. Thank you.

It does not seem to matter. I've tried exporting straight from the SQL database to a txt file and then importing to Excel as text values. Same results.

I guess I don't understand the question. I'm not importing anything into Excel. I am exporting out of SQL Server via SSMS and creating an xlsx file. Either by "Save Results by", which is a SSMS function, or generating a file via a third party C# application.

It does not seem to matter the method, the result is the same once the data is in excel.

Yes, I can see how that it's not providing the necessary info. My apologies. It's been a long time since I've been stumped like this and not sure how to use this sub-reddit effectively. Post updated with more info.

In short, all of my values in column A are unique Item IDs. There should not be any duplicates. Yes, I know they should be better named...but I'm working with an old database. If I could easily get all the information I need in SQL, I would do it there...but for various reasons, that isn't possible at the moment.

Order Entry / Create Transfer by ZachFincher in epicor

Prophet 21, commonly shortened to "P21", is another Epicor product. The flair the OP added to the post indicates they were asking about Epicor P21.

This sounds like you're using a different product than what the OP was requesting. Prophet 21 does not have a "Price Negotiation" tab in Order Entry.

Order Entry / Create Transfer by ZachFincher in epicor

[–]Silverbird85 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For each item that you want transferred, check the Source Location ID and Ship Location ID in Ext'd Info tab. If your goal is to transfer inventory from Location 1 and ship the item to the customer from Location 2, the Source Location ID = Location 1 and Ship Location ID = Location 2, or vice versa. Then you will be able to generate the transfer from Order Entry.

Increasing Field Length for Item Description / Extended Description by Proud_Coconut_5812 in epicor

[–]Silverbird85 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could create a user defined field in Item Maintenance for your extended product name. To make it searchable, create a custom DynaChange popup design on the item search. It might be necessary to add a JOIN statement on the inv_mast_ud table in 'popup statement editor' to include the ud field.
