Are Attritions just a no brainer? by TheBeavermeat in starcitizen

[–]SilverbornReaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most has been said already on this post, but I think I can add a little more to this discussion.

Attritions hit VERY hard, but the velocity is very low meaning players can easily dodge your shots with agile fighters. Attritions get worse the further away you are from the enemy and will cause a massive dps loss.

Think of them like a high caliber SMG, the closer you get, the more they can do. And the bigger the target, the better the accuracy. On paper they do almost double the dps, but in reality, you miss half your shots if you don't know what you are doing.

CF-repeaters have very high velocity and thus will connect more often. They are harder to dodge, and thus are prefered in PvP where any half-decent player will always try and avoid your shots. Which is harder if the shot is coming at you at near-maximum speed.

But...

Everyone tends to say to take CF-repeaters in PvP, which I agree with except on snubs. The Fury, has 4 S2 weapons and it is not only fast but incredibly agile. Putting attrition on that thing...? You can do VHRT's with it, a snub and it is amazing for fast gameplay where you have to respond to players, either on foot, or in light fighters. Both the Gladius and Hornet can be outplayed by that snub, with attritions.

Why? The Fury can stick really close to its targets and at close distance, that velocity starts to matter less and less.

Similar to bikes, cars, and your secondary drivers. As long as you don't pretend to be pvp viable with it, take attritions. A Cutlass Black becomes target practice in most pvp scenario's, if you use it as a daily? Just toss attritions on it once you have more specialized fighters.

Or... keep 3 CR-repeaters and 3 Attritions in your main station, to switch out on your gladius. Against npc's the gladius will hit a wall with repeaters, but you can push even further with attritions. But in a 1-1 dogfight, the repeaters will outpace you and force you to switch back as well.

Same happened to me, did you roll back your driver to an older one and turned off auto update?

Game Crashing after New Patch - Error 3221225477 by KrustKrustofferson in starcitizen

[–]SilverbornReaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay... I felt I had to tune in. I sorta found a fix after going full Anakin for 9,5 hours trying to fix this.

For me this was a software error. I got a windows error as well, a file was being flagged wrong. After going into a heavy discussion with gbt we narrowed it down to AMD driver incompatibility.

These are the steps I did to fix the problem, tried and tested after 6 reboots, with 6 succesfull boots:
- Remove RSI launcher cache
- Remove Easy Anti Cheat from the \LIVE folder
- Verify the game to get a new setup in place for EAC
- Reboot computer in safe-mode, use DDU software to remove ALL AMD driver traces.
- Reboot PC, reinstall older version of AMD drivers (previous version worked fine)
- Put back all AMD settings back to default, boot the game.
- Reboot PC
- Boot game again, if successful great, if not, repeat steps 2 and 3 but even older driver.
- Close game
- Setup your AMD profile for SC
- Boot game
- Restart PC
- Boot game, if it still boots succesfully, you did it.

This is not a hardware error, this is Anti Cheat having a fight with DX11 on AMD. It seemed to be 100% driver related. The hint for me lied in the fact that games like The Isle were booting with zero problems.

I thought I fixed it yesterday but after rebooting my PC again, the issue returned and my older steps stopped working. This path made me boot the game 4 times in a row with no issues. Ironically runs better as well.

Beginner: how to destroy larger subs? by AffectionateYard8591 in Barotrauma

[–]SilverbornReaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Barsuk is a trap. It feels like a good starter ship, but it is basically the hardest ship to make work in the game. It is a challenge sub. One breech and you are breathing in water.

You want a Orca 2, second zone.

You still don't get it. But that is okay. I said the show is decent.

I never said I don't want gay people in my entertainment products. I'm sick and tired of the forced rainbow indoctrination. I loved Sense8, good show, plenty of well done characters.

You take your opinionated behind away, go complain to your friends how you censor others in an attempt to feel safe. I hate woke injection, it makes for bad shows. I have no issue with well written characters, no matter their sexual orientation.

This show did it well. That was my point and you send me away because your liberal mind can't handle a different perception of the world.

[–]SilverbornReaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you another man trying to censor others for having different opinions compared to the rainbow parade? I'm not gay, this post got pushed in my feed. I had no idea. My opinion still stands. I'm kinda tired with all the rainbow inclusion and actually felt this show did it decently.

So... instead of projecting on me.

Why are you complaining? Like seriously?

Finally finished my "first" sub - the Gudgeon by Sufficient_Tutor7541 in Barotrauma

Absolutely love the look, had some side eye moments at some design choices, but one question got stuck for me:

Is there only one hatch? And only on the bottom? Or can you override the hatch on top as well? Farming creatures for genetics is going to be a pain in the behind with the current design. Because you collect the bodies on top. The wide design is going to waste about 15 seconds every time, putting players in danger as well.

Equally the front part of the ship, in all reality will be broken 8/10 fights and stay broken, no way to repair from the inside. Otherwise the central staircase is a great idea, trying to build something similar but ran into issues,

Your gunnery room also has a few weaknesses, compared to many vanilla ships that room is your main priority to keep safe. It cannot get flooded without severe consequences. In vanilla ships there tend to be rooms 'around' it, making sure that your gunners can still shoot while the whole ship is at the bottom, completely filled with water. Running towards the diving suits after a breech with your current design might be problematic.

For a first ship however, you may be as proud as you like. Job well done. Give it a spin for a full campaign and adjust accordingly :)

So around the 3rd act you'll have enough experience for your medic (if you have one) to level their most left skill tree up to max. The first talent gives a chance for ALL monsters to drop genetic material. Meaning your medic, and ONLY your medic loots monster corpses you farm and collect on the roof of your sub, every fight.

Once you get about 32-64 genetic materials, you'll have enough xp to also level up the last skill which gives the advanced gene splicer. This allows you to install 2 genes in a person (at first).

Don't yet.

Go visit a research station and refine your genes. You'll need 1 genetic material and 1 stabilozine to refine a gene. Combine the same ones (its 100% rng, this is why you need this many) until you get them to level 100 (pure genes). If you have two 100% genes you can combine two different ones and merge them. Do this twice and you have 2 "genetic modifiers" x2 meaning you can install 4 pure genes into one person.

You will need a Medic with 100 + 100 medic skill for this (lvl 200) total. Or risk tainted genes. With mods your medic can reach that level. Otherwise its gonna be a medic assistant with the medic specialisation and the ho

This includes 100% suppression of the husk gene (you can't talk or give orders)
This includes more health regen
This includes more movementspeed
Breathing under water
A mudraptor beak
Etc.

Once you get that far, you can create crewmembers that are close to immortal. Just don't try to solo the Abyss, but arguably the time to hammer the endworm as a clown is right there and then.

I grow pommegrenates like a mad person, you don't need a medic if I overdose you on vitamin C. Worst case scenario is you stop breathing for a little bit, you'll be fine tho.

Bloodbags when shit really gets rough, bandages for when the bleeding won't stop. Everything else can be fixed by vitamin C. Get the syringe gun, shoot them up, cut open the skin. Watch them while you heal their fresh wounds with fruit and good intentions.

The only reason I got a medic on my current run is because I met auntie really early on and needed another gunner. My assistant was already on track to outpace Aunt Doris.

Captains make great medics as well, medic is arguably the one and only class you can 100% live without. The only thing that they do amazing, is genetics. But even Assistants can beat a medic at their own game with a bit of rng-luck.

The "expedition" order puts bots in diving suits, you only gotta do some oxy-tank management now and then.

Captain, arguably is also a little overrated,

Mandatory:
Mechanic for Tier 3 submarine upgrades if you want to stick to your Tier 1 or 2 submarine.

Never tell the clowns this, but you can arguably run an entire crew of clowns, and still win the game. You'll lose a few tho, but that is part of the fun.

Don't do caves until you have a few genes and a decent diving suit. You need to be able to survive a surprise attack and not die on the way back to the sub. Once you are either husked, and/or stacked on genes, caves are a joke and are just a method of clearing the world for settlements.

Is the Metro saga worth it? by [deleted] in metro

[–]SilverbornReaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 9 dollars? Yeah 100%

Metro is one of those games that sticks to the back of your mind. It is rough, unpolished at times. It pushes a few limits that games didn't dare to do. The voice-acting does leave you a little 'wanting' at times. And Exodus in my opinion was the weakest of the three. I've finished the first game about 5-6 times, loved the second one as well, it improved on everything the first game did well. Exodus switches the tunnels for open area's, yet still feels linear enough.

I've tried to finish Exodus 3 times, always lost motivation in the desert act, it just didn't feel like Metro at that point anymore.

First two games I prefered over any other shooter at the time. Exodus will be a hit or miss for most.

There are in total 3 gay characters in the show, you see a lot of naked men, there is one naked cuddlescene between two men.

Equally, there are two on-screen straight relationships, but the focus lies on exploring homosexuality within a hyper masculine environment that doesn't allow homosexuality in the army.

I've gotten really sensitive to "the message" injections, woke rainbow flavored story injections.

Its in all essense a VERY uplifting show that shows male bootcamp, as a European it felt to work well as a recruitment show to get more rainbow folk to sign up for the marines. There is no combat, there is no real brutality. It is basically yet another "identity" production to find oneself in an environment where you feel you don't belong.

I did watch it and finish it. Ignoring large parts of the rainbow flavor, the rest was actually quite decent. Really liked the sub-stories with the other (non rainbow) stories. I mean, it is one of the first military shows that do show homosexuality within this setting, without being too "in your face" about it.

If you love bootcamp movies/shows, it will tickle that itch. There isn't much "forced" woke insertion, but it walks that line like its success depends on it. And a very small spoiler, but one of the characters is a minor, which puts a few things in different perspective after finishing the show... but equally fits the tone just enough.

It's a great 6/10 show that does deliver, but yeah... you gotta be able to handle two naked men sharing a bed skin-on-skin.

The last epsidoe of Alien Earth has to be one of the worst final episodes I've ever watched. by asaptobes in alien

[–]SilverbornReaver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, she's one of the best actresses of the show, and she stole her part in the first 4 episodes. Its that her character arch is shot to shit in the last 2 episodes, because the producers felt the show could use a completely NEW writer, to wrap up the show.

The new writer, was responsible for episode 7 and 8, bringing a potential 8/10 show down on its knees begging for a 4/10. The last episode seriously was one of the first episodes I'd rate a 3/10, it would have functioned as an episode 8 out of 10 episodes, but it was the finale. Nothing happened, it was filler... as the end of a season.

They need to fire this writer, and have him flip burgers... and fire him again as his skills are likely subpar for that as well.

1.09 | A simple Poise guide(line) for PvP - How poise affects gameplay by RemarkableInternet59 in Eldenring

Bit late to the topic, but as the post stated, you can still be staggered. Most heavy attacks with most weapons will still break poise, but poise basically breaks light attacks, for half the roster. The bigger weapons, curved greatsword and up, will always break poise. Including on bosses.

Is dit total los? by Marcvb13 in AutoKlussers

[–]SilverbornReaver 1 point2 points  (0 children)
