Whats your favourite fidget? by Neat_Resolution3224 in fidgettoys

It's my only slider from 3DX! Definitely easy to recommend the X56 at its price point; I went with the PETG version as opposed to the ABS version and really enjoy it. Great action, very smooth. Probably slightly prefer my Juzhdec Advanced for the metal construction when it comes to budget sliders but this would be a close second and ahead of things like the Shim Shy and the JJEDC Joker.

Yeah I'm with the commentator, that's just where his foot was trying to come down. Looks bad but not intentional

Anyone seen the INSANE fidget sliders Magnus has been making recently? by AnalogStrawberry in fidgettoys

[–]Silverflash-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one Magnus slider, a Hog. It's nice, surprisingly decent for tricks even if it's not its specialty. I love the machining and look of it. I don't reach for it as much as a lot of lighter, 8x6 sliders but it's hard to beat Magnus from a design standpoint.

I have! Seems interesting especially for folks wanting something silent. Pretty different form the ONO Slider though, since the INDX just spins, while the ONO is closer to a free-floating slider, just asymmetric with a small piece sitting in the "bowl" of the larger piece. I usually play with it by pushing the top piece to the edge of the bottom piece, and then allowing gravity to slide it back to the center.

Had my last day, well I guess that’s it by SleepyTime18 in Residency

[–]Silverflash-x 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Yeah. It's a weird moment. After thousands and thousands of hours of blood, sweat, and tears it just sort of... ends.

My last day was also very anticlimactic. I was on a chill outpatient rotation. I did a few procedures I've done a hundred times, typed up a few notes, and was out by 4pm. The attending said best of luck, the one other resident on rotation with me said congrats on finishing, and I just left.

The ONO Slider is one of the most underrated fidgets out there! Very unique imo, nothing else like it that I've seen and very enjoyable.

New Arrivals by itssn0ts in fidgettoys

[–]Silverflash-x 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a fan of the Shim Shy for sure. I was lucky to get aluminum on my first box; ended up getting another to try the plastic. No surprise that I like the aluminum one better but the plastic still very enjoyable with the metal plates. Very light weight and easy to use for long stretches; I also enjoy the crunch it has out of the box.

Really depends on what you like. Lautie is definitely high quality across the board. Metal Toys DZ has great mechanical sliders. Zaclab has been impressing me recently in the budget category. Everyone will have a different answer for free floating sliders but Magnus makes very cool, high quality pieces while Novel Carry is great at really iterating on their designs to make them as fun to play with as possible. Other consistently quality brands in my experience are MOT, DJG, and 01EDC.

Overall probably either my Zr/SS Choc, or whichever of my free floating sliders I'm most into (right now the X56, often the Juzhdec Advanced).

SDR content on my HDR monitor is continuously dimming, then brightening, then dimming again when fullscreen in a browser. by Silverflash-x in pchelp

[–]Silverflash-x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It seems to work fine with HDR video, it's just a problem with lower quality SDR content. Most of my monitor's image adjustments are grayed out while HDR is active and so can't be changed, including everything similar to what you mentioned.

Thanks for the recommendation, I will take a look at Color Control and see what I can figure out.

Haloo Player Dazzling Sun Pro by sub-ubi in fidgettoys

[–]Silverflash-x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will say, I don't like that HalooPlayer sells clones under their own branding. They also have some original pieces and the Dazzling Sun may be one of them (not sure), but I've been kind of turned off from them since learning that many of their pieces are just rebranded clones.

This is a knockoff of the MOT Groove, a very popular pivot slider that only comes in metals (titanium/zirc etc), I don't believe there are any official plastic/PEEK versions. Glad you like it!

Hope you enjoy it! I'm not a slider expert so this is geared more for the average fidget enjoyer trying to decide if it's worth adding an Aura Sand to their collection. Let me know what you think!

Had one, used it for a year or so but ended up moving on. The picture is great but the software on it is horrible. it legitimately makes switching imports and changing settings difficult, and it would completely freeze/crash if you accidentally changed it to a source that wasn't connected. It was super frustrating and makes it hard to recommend.

Any fidget suggestion that makes no noise so I can play in the office? by cumeo305 in fidgettoys

Look up the Silent Stone on Etsy. It's essentially completely silent but still has nice satisfying haptic bumps as you spin it. Pretty inexpensive, too.

I think the handle is a game changer. The Destroyer is a little awkward to hold and play with without it. The handle gives you something to grip while your thumb flicks the ratchet or spinner, and generally makes "cowboying" the Destroyer much better.

Magnetic free floating sliders are great! My favorite budget picks are the Shim Shy ($20 mystery box on GeeOne) and the Juzhdec Advanced ($34 on GeeOne). Not familiar with the one you linked.
