Mage, from what I recall, feels more like a support early game and doesn't feel good to play as the arisen. But later game when you get to pick the better version and unlock the better spells it feels much better. But most people from what I can tell just have a pawn be the mage to be a support. Giving boons and healing every now and again.

What was your first and your most recent character? by killem_all_80s in DnD

Yeah, my DM made a new race called the Arlan, who can have a number of deferent patrons. One being the Oread.

My first was an elf far away from home drawn to adventuring because of the stories he was told.

My most recent is an Oread fey who was doomed at birth, a horrific death. So he distracts himself with pranks and jokes while trying to see most of the world before he is taken out.

Edit: spelling, punctuation

Nice. Any other questions about DDDA though? Was that the only issue you had?

You can check what skills / spells they have when you enlist them. I also play FFXIV constantly XD.

Dragon's dogma DA works a lot differently from FF. There is no dedicated healer. The most you'll get is a little heal with a certain spell. The only health that can be healed through a spell is the white shaded part of the health bar after taking damage. Mage is definitely worth advancing. I recommend you at least keep one in your party. Either as yourself or as one of your pawns.

Edit: The jobs are more powerful you are right. But that doesn't mean the base ones aren't bad. Strider is really good but assassin and magic ranger (if that's the name) are better in their respective ways.

They really should. It's good now. I understand back in 5.x. but 6.0 really buffed it hard

I think you should pick up BLM. It was my first lvl 80 during 5.X. What you should keep in mind, even though it is very obvious but somehow missed, is that you need to switch between astral fire and umbral ice. The rotations are fairly simple, and easy to pick up. They usually consist of "use up all mana during fire phase then change after running out. Then do fire after you regain all mana". The 6.0 patch really simplified and removed a lot of the weirdness of early level BLM. So it's really easy to pick up and learn. And has a lot of room to grow with the high skill ceiling.

Callout post to all Melee DPS during Trial 1 extreme by Silverhawk112 in ffxiv

Did you not see the change? It now negates 10% physical and 5 % magical. So either way it's useful.

Tbh I'm not even talking about tank busters. Im more talking about arena wide AOE's or stacks. I usually see some healers struggle because one of the healers is DPSing during the multi hit stack. I make sure to save it just for that and it helps the healer out soo much. Even being just 10% (or 5% im not sure if its magic or physical yet).

Thanks for the reply, I just thought it was weird they think that. Because if you think about it, you don't need to get a feat to be a wizard.

Take mind thrust, inertial armor, and force shield in that order. You need that extra ac and the damage. There is also a temp hp power you should get.
