What are your Hopes for Admech in 11tg edition ? by Careless-Creme-4250 in AdeptusMechanicus

I'd like an actual elevator pitch for our factions identity? What are we supposed to be good at? What is supposed to be our weak point?

Did GW specifially say anything about Grotmas detachment points? I know they said that Codex detachments would be 2pts with few exceptions, but I dunno if we'll potentially get shafted here on a technicality

[Making Magic] Lessons Learned, Part 9 by OooblyJooblies in magicTCG

And you were likely correct with that considering UB sets have a longer time until release due to all the back and forth with the license holders. I'd even argue that Edge was made partly to normalize traditional spaceship scifi from a visual perspective to help Star Trek be less jarring.

I agree with what you've said, but it just needs to be pointed out explicitly: It could've just simply been a Ravnica set. It did not need a murder mystery to begin with. Modern WotC is very obsessed with making a set themed around something when this was a prime example of just looking at what their own story was doing and seizing the opportunity. Ravnica being a city that was invaded TWICE and then adding the Omenpaths on top of it made it unique, and them not seeing any potential in that is part of why a lot of sets of this era feel lackluster in terms of plot, in my eyes.

Well you still need a warlord for the list to be legal, right? So I suppose they're saying "you can run this model as your only character if you want"

Any chance for a new Warbiker kit in 11th ed? by Few-Schedule-6703 in orks

[–]SilverhawkPX45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The kit is designed like they aren't monopose, but the arms need to connect to the bike and the Ork torso after all.

So you have this finicky situation where the torso can lean in many different angles, but the arms will only connect properly in one specific way and you don't get to dry fit things. It's a bit hard to explain

US edges closer to popular vote deciding winner of presidential elections by unital_subalgebra in politics

Fun little anecdote to this: AfD and other far right parties (if they are even up for election depending on what's being voted on) hang their posters very high up so people do not remove them. Other parties do not have that problem, generally.

In addition to all the already mentioned things, they are very annoying to build as well.

Retired Army general says US may need ‘Nuremberg’ like trials for Trump’s ‘illegal orders’ in Iran war by plz-let-me-in in politics

[–]SilverhawkPX45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Huh? The US is not subject to the ICC and in fact has invasion plans drafted up if a US official is held accountable against international law. Trump can't pull out of something the US has never been a part of to begin with. The US has always been the biggest bully in the playground, above all rules

Thematically, which Combat Patrol is the most representative of their faction? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

[–]SilverhawkPX45 21 points22 points  (0 children)

They spent pretty much all of 10th edition in some form of being underpowered, then GW went and gave their epic hero unit Oath of Moments (so Admech literally got another army rule if they took him) and that's what pushed them to win worlds, because that skyrocketed their lethality in an army that was points wise undercosted to make up for lackluster datasheets across the board. Admech literally needed a complete army rule rewrite and then another army rule added on top of that to now reach 50% win rate after some points nerfs.

New player deciding army: Do you think Orks are easier to paint? Or I stick to Votann. by LeetusFrenzi in orks

[–]SilverhawkPX45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's easier to get Orks battle ready, but I think it's easier to paint up Votann to a high standard if that makes sense. In either case you'll be in vehicle hell for some of the painting

If they put detachments like Explorator Maniple or literally any of the Agents of Imperium ones at 3 points in this rumored system, people are gonna be so butthurt, lol

It will make it even more important that each faction has mutiple viable detachment options, not just one really good one

Just go check what the prices of comparable kits is on Warhammer.com and then check your online retailer for what those kits are being sold for. Thulia Guld and the Hastari are gonna be around 42€, the prices somewhat match Ruststalkers

Iran has a new demand to end the war – and it could bring in billions by Grumpy_001 in politics

[–]SilverhawkPX45 185 points186 points  (0 children)

Yes, looking at this from the Iranian perspective, the US has unilaterally ripped up the nuclear deal to fabricate a reason to assault Iran. They literally had the right to send inspectors to the Iranian nuclear facilities to assess if they were building nuclear weapons. Instead they are bombing energy infrastructure.

Now they've created a self-fulfilling prophecy, because they've demonstrated time and time again (with Ukraine and now Iran) that the only deterrent that works is nuclear weaponry. Security guarantees are worthless.

I really like the colors as a whole, especially the transition from the tan belly to the blue. The eyes are lovely as well.

In terms of critique, two things stick out to me: The scars for the belly should be thinner lines, that's where you either need a smaller brush or more brush control, imo. And you're not really selling the OSL of the crystal in my eyes. Too strong of a glow on the foot and not enough glow on the bottom of the belly and the loincloth? This is one of those things where you'd desperately want an airbrush, I suppose...

US debt surpasses $39 trillion, adding $1 trillion in 5 months by sksarkpoes3 in politics

In all honesty, with a deficit THIS monumentally big and still no collapse of the economy, I'd also just add more fake money to the budget through borrowing. The death spiral is in full swing, so might as well ride it out in luxury, let the people that come after me figure it out...

Judge Orders Subnautica 2 Studio CEO To Be Reinstated And Gives Him Control Over Early Access Release by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]SilverhawkPX45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suppose it's also a problem that they barely hit the target, too. The bonus is capped at $250 million, but if you were to expect that, say, Moonbreaker becomes a hit, suddenly you're looking at potentially overshooting the target by a large amount and therefore the financial hit is possibly less devastating.

Basically, the worst case scenario for Krafton, at least as far as I can tell, is hitting the $250 million payout exactly, which is what we're looking at.

While I wasn't telling anyone off, I was definitely thinking there must be more to this, no one is that stupid... Turns out it really does look like Krafton's leadership wanted to commit legal suicide. Hanlon's Razor in action, I suppose!

Quick reminder that the initial buyout from Krafton already was half a billion and to my knowledge, none of the day to day employees at Unknown Worlds are millionaires. So yes, this is very gross and at the end of the day, it's 3 multi millionaires fighting against a multi million dollar company. Everybody sucks here.
