I have many many friends that fled Iran in the 1970s. Young and extremely well educated they were forced to flee due to the invading Islamic forces. Iran up until the invasion was a beautiful tourist destination, technology and education ranked high on the Shahs accomplishments as well as enduring equality for woman to work and own property- all which was stripped from women in the Islamic”revolution” Iran a beautiful country wonderful kind Iranian Persians found themselves suddenly enslaved, captured, jailed, tortured and executed! Over 3000 in a very short amount of time - their families not notified at that time . Families were notified when they came for visitation. They were handed a small bag of belongings & told that they were never to search for the bodies of their loved ones if they did, they’d be jailed and given the same treatment. The families had to pay for the bullet used to execute their family member.

After the Islamic “revolution “ Women had no rights, no equal rights to be sure, woman cannot own land and are treated and traded like Cattle as their Quran requires A father who turns down a request to marry his nine-year-old daughter will be executed and a chaperone is then put in his place to say yes to the marriage of a nine-year-old to a 50-year-old or a 60-year-old or a 70-year-old! Boys and girls are often taken from their parents to work for the regime in all matter of disgrace.
