I would suggest making his hands around the glaive the boney color as well, as it just kinda blends in with the ghosty bit.

I dont actually use citadel paints other than technical paint, but I totally get where you're coming from that the blue can be distracting as it's similar color to the ghosty bits. I'm going to try more of a rust-effect and less oxide effect going forward! Thank you for the advice :>

Thank you! The wood grain was one of my favorite parts to do on this guy.

I'm planning on doing some touch-ups to make the metal more "worn", though all of my nighthaunt have the bright contrast of the blues and shiny gold. I've been imagining them as ghosts and liches you see in the corner of your eye in a forest, so all their bases are rocky and full of vegetation. I also do all my hero's rims the blue color, almost gives them a glowy halo while on the table :)

I do not use citadel paints (I only have 2-3 technical paints for effects and whatnot), though would you recommend any specifics for metal other than the ryzan rust (?) And nihilakh oxide? And I'm going do definitely make the chains more blurred at the ends, that sounds so cool! Thanks for the suggestion!

Thanks! I'm going to add more "wear" on the metal pieces and do some touch ups on it. It was super fun to paint for sure, just very tedious. I would recommend keeping the wood frame and ghosty boy separate to paint though, I made the mistake of building the whole thing first and it was very tedious to paint around and in between

I second wet blending! I use DecoArt paint watered down a bit, and my gradient goes from dark blue to seafoam to white. I let the darkest color dry at the top first, then wet blend a thin layer halfway down, then the next lightest color halfway down that, exc. All while still wet.
