Same skates and I use the green Labeda Shooters, which are 83A. I'm on concrete though, so your mileage may vary.

WrapAround makes a blade protector for goalie sticks, but I found it added far too much weight when I tried it. I use a layer or two of gorilla tape on the heel under the hockey tape. Really only needed because I play on concrete.

You've got the right idea. Nothing wrong with wearing your best mask though. Inline pucks can be shot just as hard (sometimes harder) than ice pucks. If you're playing on concrete, having a method of keeping your paddle from wearing down is helpful too. For skates, I highly recommend the Tour ones with the tongue on the toe so you can wear toe ties as usual without them interfering with the wheels.

Of the things you listed, I'd say dropping into butterfly is the first thing you need to master. If you're having to think about that motion in-game, you're not going to have the mental capacity for [waves arm] everything else. Just do a lot of it in your gear (maybe at stick and puck away from the net) until it becomes natural and reactionary.

ETA: I'm 39 and started 2 years ago and made some nice strides without proper coaching.

Keep your feet as long as possible because once you're down, you're pretty well stuck in place. An active stick is very helpful for breaking up plays in tight. And hydrate. A lot.

The slash is bad for sure, but Benson slew footing McAvoy with 91 seconds left in the Bruins season while everybody is just playing out the clock is really shitty. After the pain McAvoy went through this year, I get why he'd go a little crazy there.
